Hi,
I've had lots of fun with my Z, but I'm still not using it for what I originally bought it for - a PDA.
Although I've installed the Ki PIM tools, I'm still using the default Sharp ones as they're much faster.
In any case, the reason why I'm not really using it as a PDA is that I haven't found a sync solution that I like. I use iCal on my mac, and was using Qtopia Desktop on my PC but I never got it to sync properly with newer Cacko's.
I'm not sure what solution exactly I want. I developed a web-based PIM tool some time ago that I might start using if I can get it to sync with my Z, but it'll mean the Z needs to talk some standard format and be able to understand updated entries, etc.
For now, I'd be happy with it syncing over my 802.11b wireless card, my todo's/calendar, to preferably iCal on OS X, but any decent application on Windows/Linux.
What applications/sync methods are people using to achieve this? Do you use your Z as a PDA, or a expensive toy? :-)

I probably won't be much help to you, but I'll throw in my two cents.
I sync my Z to Outlook on a Windows 2000 machine. (I know, Outlook?! Windows?!) It is at work though, and that is what we have to use. It actually works VERY well. (Better than my Palm M505 did.)
My calendar, todo, email and notes sync VERY well to Outlook, using the Sharp PIM apps. I use my Z to remind me of appointments, re-read email when I'm on the go, dig up notes, etc.
So yes, I do use it as a "PDA."
Honestly, for what I do, I'd probably be happy with a CE machine if I could find a clamshell model with a 640x480 screen and a keyboard that can run Python and Ruby applications.

clofland, exactly which package did you get your intellisync from? Previously my Z was syncing very well with Outlook at work, but when they upgraded to Outlook 2003 it never worked again. I've seen posting suggesting that you export to older format pst files or to install Intellisync x.xxx but I still haven't had any luck. Also, are you using Cacko?

I use my Z as both as an uber pda and expensive toy. Besides the normal sharp pim apps I'm using Temtor for tracking my time on projects and the alarm clock. And most importantly, for meetings, how could I forget Bust'em and Backgammon?
And it doesn't hurt to have the keyboard for meetings when I've not got any pen and paper. When my syncing was working correctly it was handy how my notes showed up in Outlook so I could email them to meeting attendees, etc.

I am using Outlook 2002. I have heard reports that 2003 does not work, and also several reports that it does sync fine.
I have always used this file CD-v313.zip which can be found here http://www.elsix.org/downloads/ (http://www.elsix.org/downloads/)
I believe that it is the software from one of the us models. I use the USB driver from my Japanese Z CD, but the Intellisync is from CD-v313.zip, which has always worked for me.
Yes, I am using Cacko ROM.

Thanks for your suggestions guys. Maybe I should have added something - I definitely do *not* want to use Outlook.
And ya, Bust 'Em is a kickarse game - bought it the other day. Horribly addictive :-)

I could never get zMacSync to work with my sl-6000.
