Title: Where To Find The Basics.
Post by: robinson10 on November 24, 2004, 12:03:24 pm
I'm a fish out of water and lost. I have the c860 and it's beautiful but I can't figure anything out. I've been using a Toshiba e740 for a year and half and have a Windows 98se desktop.

What is a nand? How do I download programs? How do I upgrade the ROM? Are there any sites or books to get me started?
Thanks

well mine came with a english booklet explaining some things.

also a few things your questions are about.

the easiest is programs i think.
there is this site zaurus software index (http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/) with quite a few programs.
you simply download the ipk files, and transfer them to your zaurus, then click on them n the files section and a installer will be started.

NAND is as far as i know the format or method to backup the entire image of your zaurus to a medium.

upgrading the rom i don't know, i'm only just getting started with PDA's and the zaurus myself.

Try giving the FAQ a read:

http://www.zaurususergroup.com/FAQ.phtml (http://www.zaurususergroup.com/FAQ.phtml)

Once you've read the FAQ there is usually someone handy that can answer any questions that you might have.

This website is your best single source of Zaurus information.  If you can't find it here you usually aren't searching properly.

You can download a very good introduction to the C750 from  TriSoft (http://www.trisoft.de/pdf/c750qse.pdf).
