I bought an c860 from PriceJapan little under half a year ago. My experience with other handhelds was that it's best to get some sort of case for it from the start. Problem was that none of them were very flexible when it came to storing accessories, and almost all of them just covers top and bottom, but not all the way around the sides. Also, I wanted something that could absorb some amount of shock.
The solution was to buy a sheet of 3mm neopren with textile on each side, and ask my girlfriend very nicely to sew a case, or a bag if you want.
The main compartment is closed with a zipper, and the pocket for accessories has a velcro flap.
Here's some photos (http://designpolizei.com/album/index.php?album=2004%2FZaurus%2F&pic=dscn0836.jpg) if you want to copy the idea.

Here's the first case I got for my SL-C860 available in the UK from Blacks outdoor shop. (look at the Lifeventure stands in the store). It was about £10. - BTW this is medium weight Cordura, not Neoprene.

Then I got www.thepouch.co.uk to make me a neoprene one (they made it in the states and shipped it back).
The back of the pouch has a pocket that will hold at least two CF cards, I carry my bluetooth and WLAN card in it. The pocket has a velcro closure. It was about £30 (I think).
