Hello,
I can't get SDL and znester/snes9x to work. They seem ok when you run "znester" or "Snes9x" from the command line, but as soon as you try t oload a rom, the machine hangs. ONce I got to hear sound, but I don't know what I did.
I'm using the Stock Sharp ROM.
I've installed libSDL_1.2.6-zports_c7x0-1_arm.ipk from externe
libSDL_1.2.6cvs-1_arm.ipk from cyberphreak.com
I've also tried the "special" SDL from externe.net. Any ideas guys?
Thanks, Pete

Yup, pretty much got the same result. Though you can exit from the sound only program by pressing the "cancel" button.
Btw, has anyone noticed that when you do "shutdown -h now", it's extremely hard to turn it back on? Or is it just me?

I Installed libsdl-1.2.5-slzaurus20030704 and now I can get znester to work properly. I can play ROMs, sound works, graphics seem ok. The only problem is ,I forget where I got the libsdl from, and it only runs in a tiny little window in the middle of the screen. Also, I can't figure out all the buttons.
So, in reality, itstill isn't usable, but at least the roms run. Need a bigger display and key control.

sweet, I just beat metal man in Mega Man 2.
The screen si still tiny, but I found the buttons A and B buttons, Z and X on the keyboard.

hold down on the icon and click the zoom check box. it should play full screen

There is no icon for znester. I run it from the command line. I can create an icon for znester, but not for "znester /mnt/card/MEGAMAN2.NES". For some reason the sharp rom doesn't let me add arguments after the executable name if I use the GUI for editing the tabs under settings.

Try this: http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php?app=1176 (http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php?app=1176)
Going by the unlikely name of ZEmufeEX, this is a frontend for SNES9X and a few other things as well.
I installed it, copied snes9x to /usr/QtPalmtop.rom/bin, added a link to that in /home/QtPalmtop/bin and then it worked quite well.
Might want to play with the .sh files it creates for each rom, as it orients it portait by default, but it's a nice size display, very crisp and readable.
My only problem is that I cann't seem to successully save games in ff4. Anyone know of a reason for that?
Thanks!

Edit: I'm running the SDL version of SNES9X found here: http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php?app=1214 (http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php?app=1214)
If anyone knows a more up to date version which might properly support battery saved games I'd appreciate the info!
