I've got a 6000 on order and was planning on getting a 512M SD card so I could run Debian along side the standard ROM but all the complaints about problems writing to these cards are making me nervous. Once the initial play/setup period is over this is going to be a serious work machine and it needs to be reliable. Are there any brands/models that are known to work well with the Z or am I just asking for trouble? I'd really like to keep my CF slot free but I'll use it if I have to.

I have a 5500, so your mileage may vary. . .
That said, I have had good luck with Lexar, PNY, and some other SD cards. In fact the only SD cards that have ever crapped out were the SanDisk cards. From what I have read here, nearly everyone's experience has been similiar. STAY AWAY FROM SANDISK SD CARDS!! I personally prefer Lexar.
Good Luck and welcome to the Zaurus family.

Thanks V-man.
I should probably add that I did find some non-zaurus specific info on this site (http://sdprob.aximsite.com/theproblemlist.htm) Unfortunately it looks like most brands make both good and bad cards and you cannot really identify a specific card until you have it in hand. Also, a lot of the problems I've seen here appear to be either user error or usage of old fdisk and related tools. I wonder if it would be worth putting together a simple db that zaurus users could submit their experience and benchmarks for various cards into?
