Title: Where Are The Boot Files??
Post by: whlie on December 04, 2004, 02:34:58 pm
Hello. I'm new in the Zaurus world. I have a SL-5600 with OZ 3.5.2. I'm just trying to change the linux kernel, only the kernel. Then I'm trying to replace the zImage file from /boot. But it's a softlink to a file in /boot that doesn't exist!! With the Sharp rom /boot is empty. I can't undestand that. Where is the zImage real file? Is it impossible to replace just this file? Thanks.

Yes it is possible to replace just the kernel. You have to flash it.

Not exactly sure about the method for your 5600, but I think what you need is a zImage (kernel file) and the updater.sh on a CF/SD card; then proceed as per the usual flashing instructions and only the kernel will be flashed.

This will leave your filesystem intact.
