Title: Zaurus As A Wireless Honeypot
Post by: stormer on December 05, 2004, 05:50:21 pm
Has anybody tried using a Z as a wireless honeypot ?

Think it could be quite funny in a place where you get lots of folks trying to hack a well known location, just present as a new access point, respond to whatever pings with a random TTL value, maybe even cache google, hotmail etc. frontpages - the usual stuff people use to verify a "real" connection, followed by a nice message when they try to go further.

Just an amusing thought that came to me while watching some enthusiastic young chaps attempt to get access to APs in a semipublic location this weekend, I would have loved to have given them something to "find" but had nothing suitable on my 5600 at the time.

Any suggestions ?

I don't know what's needed. But they used a Zaurus as the mobile AP in the Running Man contest.
