Title: Pixil
Post by: JohnKiniston on December 05, 2004, 07:10:06 pm
I just learned of the Pixil enviroment, it looks pretty nice as seen here and has a fully working suite of pim and network functionality:

I downloaded their Zaurus version from here: ftp://ftp.pixil.org/pub/pixil/binaries/zaurus/ (http://ftp://ftp.pixil.org/pub/pixil/binaries/zaurus/) and got it to half-work on my Zaurus.

It appears to be X11 based but on a older XServer?

Is there anyone with a dev enviroment who would be interested in seeing if it would compile with the openembedded stuff with the newer X11 server?

Source is here: ftp://ftp.pixil.org/pub/pixil/ (http://ftp://ftp.pixil.org/pub/pixil/)

This may not be of interest to people using Opie based builds but as a alternate to GPE it could be neat.

I'm pretty sure I had it on my iPaq once.  It looked pretty good and everything worked and all, but really no apps other than what you get when you flash it.
