I guess the title says it all. Ebay has nothing, I don't trust those pen/pencil/stylus contraptions. Does any one know where I can find a stylus that will work great and still fit into the slot on the side of my Z?

Got "generic" Zaurus stylii from Amazon a couple months ago. Fit the C860 perfect. Aluminum barrel with screw on end fittings. Better weight than the original plastic ones. In packs of 2, inexpensive. From what I have heard, should fit the 5xxx series as well.
If you can't find them on a search of the site, I can dig up the item number for you.
Luck.

I purchased a couple of PDAIR styli when I broke my original and they fit in the Z perfectly I can't remember where I bought them from but I do know it was not E-Bay and they were delivered from a shop in Leicester. I had some difficulty in paying the shop as there on line secure payment server was very unreliable but I did get them in the end and the staff were friendly and helpfull.
They are listed on this site

I also have some original Sharp Zaurus stylii on stock and can mail them within Europe:

I remember reading here some time back that the stylus for one of the Palm models was almost exactly like the Z's. If you search the forums I'm sure you can find it.

Tungsten T stylus works also

Can you post a model # or link for the Tungsten-T stylus you're talking about thanks.

Does the Tungsten T stylus actually fit into the little hole in the Z?
-
The Tungsten stylus is a tad larger in diameter that the stock stylus, but still a good fit for the Z silo. The groove is even in the right place to work with the Z's catch.
I'm a little concerned that the groove may damage the catch over the long term, though: because of the larger diameter, it puts a little more pressure on the catch, making it harder to disengage. Since the catch is plastic, and the pressure it exerts comes from bending that plastic, I think it might shorten the life.
But it's possible that I'm being too cautious because I'm not an expert on plastics.
What I did to allay my concern was pop the Tunsten stylus in a lathe, and cut the wall of the groove so it slopes more gently toward the tip end. Now it slides out more easily, and doesn't feel like it might be putting strain on the catch.

got the pentopia 3-in-1 stylus via brando workshop (hongkong) and am completely convinced. the ballpoint pen is nice, but i've never used it so far. however i really like the option to extend the pen for an inch or so. also the additional weight (in comparison to the original lightweight) makes it easier to write with.

Does the top pop up like the Tungsten T3 stylus, or do you have to pull it or twist it to extend it? I really like my Tungsten one, but I'd enjoy having a pen available too.

i have to admit that i don't know the t3 stylus, but the pentopia's back has to be pulled out manually. it will however lock at the end. that might help you to imagine what i mean:

Im using a Tugsten T stylus, its really nice, fit perfectly, except its too long. I had to cut mine (well i prefer it that way), Its kinda tricky to cut, you have to remove the plastc at end (very hard) and use damn good cutter, because the metal is not easy to cut. Else its really good.

I bought a Belkin 3 replacement pack for the Tungsten T's for $10 CAD. Similarly, they're too long, but I unscrewed the stylus tip then force threaded it onto the stylus from my Z. Works fine so far...

I bought a 2 pack from that link. Thanks Howitzer.

Does the pentopia 3-in-1 fit into the C3000? It looks nice but I haven't seen it mentioned that it would actually fit into the C3000 model. I was just wondering because if it does not fit, then I would rather go for the Belkin PDA Quadra 4-in-1 Pen: Stylus/Pen/Light/Laser
