Title: Konqueror-embedded And Its Cache
Post by: talmage on December 07, 2004, 10:44:34 am
I have OZ 3.5.2 on my collie.  I'm using konqueror-embedded_20030705-r3_arm.ipk that I got from the OZ feed.

I want to know how to make konq stop putting its directories of cached files in /.  It fills up my / quickly.  I'll settle for disabling the cache.  I'd prefer to put the cache somewhere else and limit its size to a megabyte or so.

I tried setting UseCache = false in the [http Settings] section of ~/.kde/share/config/konq-embedrc but that didn't help.  konq-e keeps adding UseCache = true to the section!

I have the same problem.  It creates a series of folders with a single alpha character all in root.  But I can't see where I can set that I want the cache to be on the sd card . . . .

A
Another odd little problem is that in its display of text from a web page it repeats the first letter of a paragraph as the first character on the line above the paragraph like the "A" before this paragraph.  Not sure what that is about.

I got the same problems
Opera would be the temporary solution....(using compat-lib)
Anyone by chance have Opera 7.55,
I can only find 7.3 (In this website)

sigh...is not working..
Tho it is installed.
And I discovered that......the directories are all wrong...
Opera 7.55
put the programs in /home/QtPalmtop
Which suppost to be in /opt/QtPalmtop
That's why I can't open it....
Either I had to hardcore do the transfer of file one by one back to the right directory
and typing those "ln -s" one by one

And there is a strange file "zaurus" in the home directories..I wonder what it is...

Konqueror actually don't need oz-compat.
Did it actually work on your Zi....
It didn't work on mine....
I used to have bad luck w/ these installation
(Most probably because I am a noob...)

You to install opera, you could temporarily create a /home/zaurus directory (to get any conf files which may be placed there) and create a symlink from /home/QtPalmtop to /opt/QtPalmtop.

You could always install opera6 which worked fine.

Konq cache problems - I'd recommend looking on the konq web site.

Konq doesn't need ozcompat, opera does.
