Other than the 3.5.1 xmms hack how goes mulitmedia?
I have vlc firing up on pocket workstaion oz 3.5.2 kernel.--haven't tested actual media yet
OPie player loads but crashes rather than play media
xmms has not loadesd anything sucessfully, though that might be me.
I have heard that it xmms/mplayer does badly with video
what about totem? didn't see it in the gpe feeds.... why not spruce up mplayer and make a gtk gui be the gpe player as well? it is good stuff, and having a single media core (mplyer )setup would surely reduce the effort of doing all this...
and frodo and uae??? what's the deal there? they just die... and uae wants conmpatlibs it looks like...

XMMS works fine @ the hentges OZ Roms, might be you can try that
Mplayer probably is the best video player. It is in the feed.
Opie-player, never tried that, but I am fine w/ XMMS +mplayer

wanting a vga z on which to try a stright oz/x11/apt /debian arm

VLC works great on pocket workstation... but the vnc stuff causes issues.
apt-get install package. bingo you name it, it works.
as soon as I get a vga gotta do a chroot get x apt n dpkg n wireless conigured...and debianoz all the way!!!
