Title: Zaurus Bricked
Post by: mpray on December 11, 2004, 07:56:19 pm
Hello.  I recently tried flashing my trusty yet rather unreliable Zaurus SL-5500 with OZ 3.5.2.  However, I tried flashing it without the power cord in, as I've done a few times without seeing any ill effects.  Every time I flashed it the mail light went on, but after it went off, I couldn't get the Z to resopond, even after resetting it.  I tried to flash it a few times, but I couldn't get anything.

I took it home and tried to flash it with the power cord, yet it wouldn't work.  I was able to flash it again without the power cord in, and while it was flashing I inserted the power cord and both LEDs lit up and flashed for the normal period of time.  After this, my Z was completely unresponsive.  When the power cord is in, the power LED doesn't light up.  I removed the battery for a while, but the Z remains unresponsive when the battery is in.

Should I attempt to get a separate charger, or perhaps another battery (I've had problems with charging and the battery in the past)?

Thanks.

Rather than a new battery (which may be in need of charge on arrival), spend $10-$15 and find a charger on Ebay.  The upside is the charger will be forward compatible with the 5600 and C series (but not 6000L) with a little modification (drilling on hole).

Alright.  But are you sure it's the battery that's the problem?
