Title: Some Packages For Rc5+
Post by: chrisd on December 13, 2004, 10:20:20 pm
I've compiled some packages i want to share with you all. I'd upload them to the unstable feed, but Laze isn't answering my mails on how to do that. I've put the files on my homepage for now. So what's there?

bestcrypt 1.4-2 --- for storing data in a secure way using a virtual disk including /sbin/mkfs (bestcrypt doc) (http://www.jetico.com/linux/bchelp/)

gpsdrive 2.09 --- GPS navigation software (also install the pcre package)

linux-wlan-ng 0.2.0 --- alternative prism2 driver with tools

hping2 rc3 --- command-line oriented TCP/IP packet assembler/analyzer

netcat 0.7.1 --- networking utility which reads and writes data across network connections (GNU version)

flite 1.2 --- festival lite: a small, fast run time synthesis engine

gammu 0.99.0 --- cellular phone software

ettercap 0.6.b --- ettercap is a suite for man in the middle attacks on LAN

NEW

hostap-driver 02.4 --- Host AP driver for Intersil Prism2/2.5/3 patched with airoplay patch

hostap-utils 0.2.4 --- Host AP utils patched for firmware flashing

hostapd 0.2.4 --- user space daemon for access points

aircrack 2.1 --- 802.11 sniffer and WEP key cracker

I hope they are useful to some of you. More will follow.

Take me to the website... (http://www.unpleasant.net/chris/zaurus/pdaxrom/rc5/)

Hi chrisd,

THANKS a lot for gpsdrive ... I'm using it on my notebook and try to compile the lastest 1.10 pre2 but had some problems on 1.1.0 RC5 ...

Did you tra it on 1.1.0 kathrin rc5? I will do a next try on rc7 if it is out ... but probably have to wait because I'm away until 30th dec. ...

What about your compile switches ? Standard ones? Very happy for some help ...

Thanks
Martin

Good work on your contributions, Chris!

Do you know what the newer PRISM driver does that the rc5 one doesn't?  I have a Linksys WCF12, which I think is a PRISM, and claims to have a low power consumption (yes really - 20mA on standby type of thing).  But the amount of heat it gives off makes me disbelieve that.  I am wondering if it is something to do with the driver not implementing power saving modes, and if your version might be better in that respect.

@ gromituk

I'm not really sure, but it should give you more control over the firmware settings of the card. I've also patched the driver to support raw packets for some WLAN security testing tools. I'm currently using hostap 0.2.4, also patched for raw packet support and patched for firmware flash suport, and will upload it soon. Works nicely with airodump and aireplay. It's also nice to always have an AP with you.

I've been wanting festival for so long....
do we have sphynx][ or whatever is the speech to text?

that way we could have speech to text, and text to speech.

I know nothing of the individual package, but speech to text does involve a lot of processing power if you want to get good results, so there may be a limiting factor here.

thnx chris!!!

Do you take requests?

ettercap 0.7.1 and aircrack 2.1 would be fun

Here are some new packages:

hostap-driver 02.4
hostap-utils 0.2.4
hostapd 0.2.4
aircrack 2.1

The driver is patched for use with airoplay from aircrack so you can inject captured ARP packages with this driver. The hostap-utils are patched to allow flashing your PRISM firmware.  I used it on my ASUS card and it worked perfectly.

@jrsjkd

I'll upload the new version soon, but it didn't work with my WLAN card. That's why i tried the old one.

Hi Chrisd,

happy new year :-) ...

Did you try to compile gpsdrive for RC8?

What about a Packages file for your rc8feed? How to generate it in an automatic way?

Martin

Hallo Chrisd,

beautiful packages, which you made for pdaXrom.
Is it possible that you make a package for Cacko ROM?

I would like to use bestcrypt with Cacko ROM 1.22.
https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showt...t=0&#entry62598 (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=10119&pid=62598&st=0&#entry62598)
The package for PdaXrom does not work with Cacko ROM. I am not a programmer. Is it possible that you provide a package for Cacko?

What do I need and which I must do, so that I can use Bestcrypt?

Thanks
Lutz

No, i'm sorry. I don't use Cacko. You should try to find a developer for Sharp/Cacko ROM that can help you out and already has the SDK and everything installed.

Hi chrisd

gpsdrive 2.09 --- GPS navigation software (also install the pcre package)

you did a great job with building gpsdrive 2.09 for pdaxrom.
I startet just a couple of days ago and I switched from my old Z5500 now to my new SL-C860 with pdaX RC9.

I have a problem while starting gpsdrive from your feed. The application crashes with a seg-fault when the popup window for the "Spendenaufruf" starts.

It would be very helpfull if you can take a look at this problem. If I can help, please let me know (testing etc.).

Best regards,

Mario

Hi woody,

did you test the new gpsdrive-cvs20050530 package ... I'll try it and got the same segfault again pcre package install ...

There's an other problem ... in standard mode windowsize to big for Z's c860 screen ... but could not get the pda mode work ... or what about this option for window size ? gpsdrive options -x ... -y ... they are I think ...

Thanks
Martin

Hi all new to this forum and pocket computing,

I am a big fan of aircrack and have beeen using it on the laptop, is there any chance of a ipk for the latestest versions 2.2 and 2.3?  The new version has got a really good brute forcer for WPA which I have had a lot of success with.

has aircrack 2.3
tell me if you have any success with it.. i'm currently working on trying to injection patch the wlanng drivers b/c i get very little traffic without arp reply spoofing
my built-in 6000 wifi might just not be strong enough to capture all the packets...
still need to research a little more...
let me know how it works for you

New version of gammu (this one works with SonyEricsson T610 unlike other versions)
