I lost my clear flip top My Z fell out of my pocket during a christmas party, adn the cover must have flown off ::: I got the Z with no damage ( ) but the cover is gone ... . .
I feel realllly nervouse carrying it around with that nice screen exposed to anything I happen to dump in my pocket .. it's gotten to the point were I'm scared to even carry it around with me ... so sad! So i decided to see if I can hunt down a replacement somewhere . .
If you have a dead Z, a broken Z, two Zs, or are simply a kind and generouse fellow (or lady) Please let me know if you have this peice that you are willing to sell or donate it to me. I'm a college student so money is very tight around the holidays :: I'll pay whatever shipping costs, and a nominal fee if that's the only way I can find one.

after a quick froogle search: here are the results (http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=sharp+CESLC1&scoring=p). I might not need to mention this, but be careful of the shipping charges.
good luck.

Unfortunately those are for the 5500 cover. While I believe this would fit the 5600 and be a replacement of sorts, it is not clear like the 5600 cover.
In fact, at one time I tried to find a source for a 5600 cover to use on my 5500 as I much prefer the clear cover. The only supplier I found was Sharp and the price I cannot recall, but it was high enough that I passed.
If this matters to loji, I would suggest contacting Sharp. Otherwise the froogle link posted by webslngr will certainly lead to a cheaper substitute.

Thanks alot for your help guys :-D Myabe it's not too late to find one in my stocking ;-)
Yea I knwo thier not the clear ones ... i REALLY am gonna miss being able to use the terminal without having to lift the screen ::: I"m thinking that maybe i'll be able to sand it down with a super ifne sandpaper and polish it to make it clear ::: but it's a really soft plastic, and I don't think it will work ;:: but it can't hurt at all :-p Works on Xbox jewels tho

Try a google search for something like "lego polishing": I remember reading once about people polishing clear Lego parts with something unlikely (Brasso, maybe??).
Also, the cover is probably a polycarbonate similar to the one used to make CDs, and DVDs, so one of those CD scratch repair kits might work.

If you want, I've got this cheap:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...g=UTF8&v=glance (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00007BGE4/104-9619391-2236728?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance)
Ordered it as a replacement cover for my 6000, and it does not fit.
I may be able to send a pic if you want.
Cost me about $7.00, it's unopened, I'm not worried about recovering my $7.00, but don't want to pay to ship.

Thank you so much for your generosity.
If you ever need an extra set of hands on a project or anything I can do to help you out sometime, let me know.. I'd be more than happy to go whatever I can for you.

It's gone in the mail today. It's sandwiched between a few layers of cardboard, and I put two $0.37 stamps on it. Enjoy.
Oh, there might be a few things I could use from you. I've not had succes with:
IR from/to PC or Palm
Sync with LotusNotes
and I've not attempted to build an app targetted for some PC system for the Z yet.
Any experience with any of those?

have you been able to get LIRC installed on your 6000? I have a 5600, so the same package I have probably won't work on yours. . but I bet I can find it if you don't already have it. .
I was able to beam my Palm address book to my Z over infared when I first got it. Just set it to beam receive, and then beamed everything over from my Handspring visor.

Do you use ko/pi for your PIM? I suggest it and aobsolutley love it ::: I had an idea about syncing lotus notes ..
try these apps
http://tuxmobil.org/lotus_notes.html (http://tuxmobil.org/lotus_notes.html)
and you can use use Unison on the Z and your box to keep them both up to date. So basically whenever you connect to your local network, it'll perform a 'sync' automatically for you.
Hope that helps some Thanks again
