Title: Software Feeds For Z 6000
Post by: oyku on December 15, 2004, 05:56:01 pm
This may have already been covered but please bear with a new comer.

Having search the net and have read many posts, I started thinking about that all the great stuff I've seen and read about Zaurus was for either 5X00 or CX00. I was not able to find software that worked flawlesly and supported 480 x 640 in SL6000.

Does anybody knowof a good 6000 feed. I'd really appreciate.

Uh,,,  Did you look over in the 6000 sections, there's a thread just on this subject!

Page 4 (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=3806&st=45) of the thread that BarryW mentioned has a link to a feed.  I've tried some and in many cases, the links appear to point to the same packages that I have for my 5600.

What would be nice is a feed or listing of applications written for (or  take advantage of) the better screen resolution.  So you could seek out packages that don't need to run in magnified mode.

Thanks. I've starting to checking those out. So far the most 480x640 friendly app I've found was NeoCal. Much better than the one supplied in Sharp's ROM. Reminds me me school day when I became a wizard using my HP 48g stack calculator.

BTW as a new comer (only 48 hours have passed after unpacking my new Z 6000)  I'm batteling to understand the file system and trying to find a way to utilize 1 Gig SDcard to install software on it.

Any pointers for that?
