Title: Media Player Annoyances
Post by: shturm on December 18, 2004, 02:18:03 am
I am using Media Player (included with default Sharp ROM 1.12) to listen to audio books while commuting.

A couple of things annoys me, and I wonder whether anybody knows of any remedy.

1. The pick to pause button does not work immediately - it takes from 1 to 5 seconds to actually stop playing. Is there a way to pause immediately?
2. The progress indicator seems to be just an indicator - it ignores my picks when I try to set current position in the mp3 file. Is there any way to FF/REW or jump to a position within a file?

If these issues are not resolvable, can you suggest another media player that would not suffer from these problems?

Thanks!

Try the program "Old time radio", works well for me

The sound doesn't stop immediately because it gets buffered, so when you press pause or stop there may still be a few seconds or sound left to play in the buffer. This happens with tkcPlayer also.

The progress bar in the Sharp media player simply hasn't been coded to change the track position. tkcPlayer does have a progress bar that can change the track position.
