Are there any econometric analysis programs for the Zaurus? If not, are there any other economists / economics students who would like to have econometric statistical analysis (Regression analysis) software on the zaurus?
There is an open source econometric analysis package called gretl (http://gretl.sourceforge.net/) that runs on linux. I am no linux expert, and am not a developer, so I dont have the faintest idea of how to port it to the Zaurus.
I dont know how much work would be involved in porting it, and obviously, this won't interest many people, there arent many economics geeks!
If anyone is interested, I'd love to hear from you!

Hi,
some guys are trying to compile R for the zaurus. The R-Project (http://www.r-project.org/) is refered by gretl.
This is the state of R at openzaurus:
http://openembedded.bkbits.net:8080/openem...ages/nonworking (http://openembedded.bkbits.net:8080/openembedded/src/packages/nonworking/r?nav=index.html|src/.|src/packages|src/packages/nonworking)
So if someone knows any hint or can help?
Cheers,
Sam

I'm working on the R .oe file.
I know why it's not working - it's to do with the R binary being used during the build of the packages.
My notes: http://students.bath.ac.uk/enpsgp/Zaurus/r...ing_compile.txt (http://students.bath.ac.uk/enpsgp/Zaurus/r_in_oe/R.bin_usage_during_compile.txt)
Also check my recent posts (and the replies on the r-help mailing list): http://www.r-project.org/ (http://www.r-project.org/)
I was busy this weekend so haven't had a chance to look into the suggestions (yet).

P.S. You might be able to use Octave (which is also in the feed).
