Title: Best Use Of Space?
Post by: burao on December 20, 2004, 08:52:27 am
Hello all,

In my attempt to make people jealous (and blow all of my money), I have acquired a Panasonic high speed 1GB SD card and a  4gb microdrive for my Zaurus 860.

My question to all is what should I do with my new found space?

So far my I mainly use it for Japanese/English dictionaries, Portabase Databases,
Wikipedia, and a few MP3 files.

Any other suggestions?

A side question:
Anyone know why Sharp doesn't admit to 1GB SD cards working
on the 860, and for that matter 4GB Microdrives?
I haven't had any problems with either.

The only media I know of that doesn't seem to work is a certain batch
of Sandisk 256MB SD cards.

By the way, Merry Christmas!

I have the same memory configuration and I use ~300Mo on the SD for an ext2-in-a-file mounting where I can install some programs , keeping the rest for downloads when using wifi and file transfer between my laptop and the zaurus (as my laptop have an integrated SD slot too)... while the microdrive is used for playing movies and mp3, and coding (ext3 formated - actually learning c++ with onboard dev image)  ... btw in your case if you don't do coding in your case I'd have my 1Gb SD card for programs (if it support native ext2/3 formating) and the microdrive for dictionnaries/databases/wikipedia/mp3 and divx
