I have installed the demodoom and it work fine.
However, when I put the other *.wad file in the corresponding folder, it cannot detect it.
I have serached many old posts and most of them just said put the *.wad file in the corresponding folder, then it will working fine.
Any tricks on this? Thanks.

I believe it is looking for /usr/share/games/doom/doom.wad
You can also dump it/symlink it into /root
The shareware version comes as DOOM1.WAD, and prboom wants doom.wad.
Or doom2.wad etc.
Good luck.

Okay I got Doom to run on the stock 3K Sharp Rom using [a href=\"http://www.users.on.net/~hluc/myZaurus/]http://www.users.on.net/~hluc/myZaurus/[/url] as a guide. However it runs flipped and small.
# libsdl - [libsdl_1.2.6-zports-5_arm.ipk]
# libsdl-mixer - [libsdl-mixer_1.2.5cvs-1_arm.ipk]
# libsdl-net - [libsdl-net_1.2.5cvs-1_arm.ipk]
# doomdemo - [doomdemo_1.8-1_arm.ipk]
# prboom - [prboom_2.2.3-2_arm.ipk]
How can I flip and put it full screen.
Thanks

with libsdl_1.2.6-zports-5_arm.ipk you need to make sure you have "Display with magnified screen" ticked

Known problem with prboom is that it tries to start 320x200 which screws up because that mode isn't available.
If you are getting it dropping straight back out edit the config file and change it to 320x240. That should work.

Thanks, Andy,
I modified the prboom.cfg file and I can change the "flipped" resolution just fine. But if I try with "Display with magnified screen" on the Qtopia desktop it still pops me back out after displaying two wait screens. Nothing is reported in dmesg to point to the failure.

Here's how my prboom.cfg looks like which allows me fullscreen doom

Anybody know where prboom looks for the Doom music files? I already have the MP3s, I'm just unsure of where to place them.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I have the same problem. On my SL5500 I was able to play other wads that I have, but no matter WHAT I do on the c1000 fool with the cfg, symlink, whatever, I can't get ANYTHING to work other than the original prboom.wad.
Anybody successfully get other wads to work?
I have installed the demodoom and it work fine.
However, when I put the other *.wad file in the corresponding folder, it cannot detect it.
I have serached many old posts and most of them just said put the *.wad file in the corresponding folder, then it will working fine.

Edit:
I symlinked my doom2.wad to the /home/QtPalmtop/share/games/doom/ folder and then changed the cfg file in the .prboom folder to list doom2.wad as the first game and prboom.wad as the second game, then it worked. I tried to put doom1.wad or doom.wad instead of "prboom.wad" but then it wouldn't run. It seems that prboom.wad HAS to be listed as one of the games. Anyway, now I can play other wads of Doom. Hope this helps someone else.
This is for the Cacko ROM on the C1000.

Folks,
If you want WAD files goto
http://www.filesearching.com/cgi-bin/s?q=d...wad&t=f&d=&l=en (http://www.filesearching.com/cgi-bin/s?q=doom2+wad&t=f&d=&l=en)
but please only use them if you have the ACTUAL game..also on this site are the tnt wad files from final doom for windows 95, all of these run fine under prboom...and indeed improve graphics...
