I have bluetooth PAN set up and am able to browse the internet using Netfront and Opera on my C860 with cacko 1.21b. I have FreeProxy on WinXP and use that to get on the internet from the Z. The problem is that any other clients even Konsole on the Z are not able to ping IPs since they do not use the proxy settings since the settings only work for HTTP and FTP. Is there a way to set a general Proxy in Cacko 1.21b?
I guess the question I really want an answer to is how can I ping an IP from Konsole using a Bluetooth PAN connection? Thank you.

why dont you use internet connection sharing in winxp. thats what i use with my zaurus and winxp box

How would you set htis up with a Z? I had tried but did not make a difference. Still cannot ping an IP from Z?
-
bluetooth ip address
cacko rom actually allows u to do this using a network applet. you can use that too

even that does not allow you to ping.

sorry netfront snipped my post.
the post was to say
Set internet connection sharing enabled in your winxp internet adapter.
use the following command in the zaurus as root
route add default gw x.x.x.x
x.x.x.x is the ip address of the winxp pand adapter.
tell me how it turns out. This works great for me, though I use the Bluetooth pand conncetion in cacko. That lets me use netfront, qtmail etc.

tovarish,
that worked man! As easy as that. Many thank yous!

just remember to do
route delete default
before you remove the bluetooth card. wouldnt cause any problems but if you happen to connect to the internet using wireless things maynot work.
you can also do
route add default gw x.x.x.x
x.x.x.x (192.168.129.1) to connect to the net using the usb cable.
as a fvour could you tell me what bluetooth card you are using and whats the maximum data rate that you can achieve. For my anycom card i can get max 10 KB/s (kilobytes)
thanks
