Title: Xmms Depends
Post by: DaveAnderson on December 31, 2004, 11:45:05 am
Can someone tell me all the depenencies I need for XMMS?  I thought I had them all but when I try to run it on Cakco 1.22 I get:

GDK Warning: Locale not supported by C Library

I hope that you are using the package feed that we setup.  We have it defined by default in the package manager GUI.  I have no problems when installing from our feed.  Let me know if it doesn't work.  Why don't you use Kino2?

Thanks!

I am using the feed - all XMMS and related libs were from that feed.  I prefer XMMS.

The only way I was able to reproduce your error was by not having X windows running.  Make sure that you are launching Xqt first.  If you do not have X running the xqt-xmms package will not work.  You will need to install the xqt-xmms-mad package to play MP3's.  I have not looked into getting a QT xmms port working at this time.

Kino2 now has playlist support.  The performance is quite good as well so you might want to give it a try.

Hope this helps...
