Title: Why Are The Feeds Set Up As They Are?

I have managed to get my SL5500 set up as I like it, but not without problems. Some of these problems are my fault (not looking up the forum first) others I would put down to the feed system.

For example, I use opie and "Abuse" is in the opie feed, but it does not work under opie, the same goes for "gweled".

Why are they in that feed when they don't work with that frontend.

Also some of the packages have names that do not suggest their purpose, this could be fixed by adding a description to the name. For example the feeds could become:

..../feed/opie/games/sokoban - A puzzle game

or

..../feed/gpe/games/abuse - Classic platform game

Would this be possible or would it be better as a database on the website?

Please look at this as a suggestion rather than a criticism.

Abuse is a Opie game. Maybe it's buggy and that's why it doesn't run.

Gweled is in the "base" feed, not in the Opie feed. It should be in the GPE or X11 feed.

This can not be done with the current build system. And it would mess up our package names badly.

Short descriptions of each package can be viewed with your package manager.

OK it may be buggy.

Fair enough, but is there database of packages that could be put on the website, then you could also have a HOWTO get it to work section for buggy packages.

Open your package manager and select a package, hold your stylus on it for a 'short time' then release and you have the information. (the 'short time' is tricky)

What a wonderful feature, not easy to find, but useful. Could it be added to the "View" drop down menu as "Package Details".
