As time passes and the functionality of my C3000 is tested, I am seeing an increasing need for a Bible program. I use Quickverse on my desktop and Laridian has an incredible program (which included search engines, devotionals, and the hebrew and greek definitions) for Windows CE that I used on my late Jornada 720. Laridian has already notified me that they do not have such a program for linux-based pdas. Does anyone know of or have a Bible program similar to those described above that works with the C3000?
Thoughts and responses much appreciated,

Try QPSword:

So, has any one tested if QPSword runs on C3000? I am thinking of buying C3000 and this is an important consideration for me.

I just installed on my C3000. It runs fine in full-screen mode. I've installed KJV, SPRV and ITADIO and ran searches. The Spanish search crashed the app, but English and Italian searches went through fine.

Thank you for your feedback.
Another question. Has anybody used Opie Dagger? I could not find any description or screenshots of this program and I don't run OZ. How does Dagger compare to QPSword?

It works good on the 5xxx models for reading, but I get very frequent SIGSEGV faults on the search feature.(never found out why?)

The best I've found is opie-reader.
Here is the bible for french speakers:
externe.net/religion/bible.pdb
I also offer a Quran :
externe.net/religion/coran.pdb
PS: If you are french speaking and would like the french translation of your holy book to be available on the Zaurus, email me, I'll be happy to help (I'd be interested in Zarathustrans BTW ...)

A quick question while I am waiting on my c3000 to arrive. Could you be more specific about the name of this French translation? My French is not that great and I had an old French translation that I could not understand. Thanks

Hello
This is Louis Second free version (protestant). No catholic translation of the bible is available in french due to copyright reasons. A franciscan monk suggested me to use this translation instead, which is quite good

Thank you.
To continue this post. I have installed QPSword on my c3000. The text is too small. I think this is because the program uses unifont, which has only one size and there is no way to modify it. I asked the maintainer of QPSword and it appears a new Sword engine is coming out and they may update QPSword then. Has anybody found a solution for small font problem (except of course running in magnified mode)?

I've been running qpsword on both an SL-6000 and C3000 and that's my main complaint about the software -- font is too small for long reading. OpieReader is quite nice. Perhaps I'll do as guyhelm suggests and use OpieReader and a pdb of the Bible.

If you find that opie-reader doesn't support the way you want to read your bible I'm always open to suggestions for additional functionality.
Email me at timwentford at hotmail dot com with any suggestions and I'll see what I can do.

Do the new Zaurii or Zaurii ROMs support Java? If so, then there is a Sword Bible reader for Java. It works reasonably well on my SuSE desktop box.
http://www.crosswire.org/bibledesktop/download.html (http://www.crosswire.org/bibledesktop/download.html)
I installed BibleDesktop using javaws. I remember trying to install this program using the tarball '.tar.gz' a long time ago, and failing dismally. BibleDesktop, on my machine, can display Greek, Hebrew, Arabic etc.. 'out of the box'. It will not display Chinese/Korean
Good luck!
