Title: Textmaker In Vga Resolution?
Post by: daXd on January 04, 2005, 10:46:26 am
Does anybody have TextMaker on SL-C3000? I installed the trial version and it switched display to portrait mode, probably 240x320. I have asked SoftMaker, but have received no answer.

I found an ilustration photo where SL-C860 is shown with TextMaker in landscape mode and probably in VGA resolution. So it should work on SL-C3000, too. But I want to be sure before purchasing the paid version.

Hi,
this might help. hold your stylus on the app for about 3 sec. another menu will pop up. remove the check mark to display w/magnified screen.  This might help.

Lareya  (works on the 680)

Thank you, another menu is new for me. Unfortunately, it didn't help. There are formating options only there.

Not sure about the 3000, but I run it fine in landscape mode on an 860 which is pretty close hardware-wise. Textmaker works great!

Thank you. Do you know how old is you build? Trial version package has name TextMaker_2002.ipk. I think it means it is from year 2002 and there was no VGA-resolution Zaurus in that time, I think.

daXd,

Your replies tell me you didn't make the change lareya suggested.

What you need to do is to exit out of Textmaker completely so that you are back to the tab containing all the program icons on the Z's "desktop."

Now, instead of clicking the Textmaker icon (which launches the program), just tap and hold down on the Textmaker icon. A box will open and you need to remove the check mark in the box which says to display with magnified screen. After you do that and then launch Textmaker, you'll have it open up in VGA mode.

Well, I thought I was a clever boy but it seems I have to change my estimation of mysef :-(

After  unchecking "Display with magnified screen" is TextMaker in landscape mode and VGA. The problem was that I was looking for it inside TextMaker, not on the desktop.

The good news is I learned that pressing stylus for longer time works as right mouse button is some applications.

Many thanks for your help. I am going to order Zaurus + Linux Desktop bundle of TextMaker, now. I am looking forward I will be able to edit texts with same software on my Zaurus and on my Linux box.
