Title: 3000 Driver Question For Sharp

I have a huge favour to ask of our Japanese speaking Z 3000 users:

1.  Submit a question to Sharp about a driver for the Sharp Camera ( CE-AG06 )
or  if there is one on the included CD ... I can't read Japanese  
or  if there is source so that I could build a module...I don't think the driver is included with the kernel source.  I have only taken a quick look at the source tarball.

I would really appreciate it!

Hello Bombur,

I am Japanese speaking C3000 user.  However, I searched into yahoo.co.jp, but I couldn't gather much info.
In Sharp web, it clearly says that CE-AG06 is supported on L-C860, SL-C760, SL-750, and SL-C700.  Also, there is a list of CD-ROM included software, and "camera soft for CE-AG06" is included in those machines' CD-ROM.

In C3000 column, there is nothing mentioned about CE-AG06, but at the same time, they don't say "not supported on C3000" in FAQ page.

For hardware-wise, there shouldn't  be much difference between C860 CF slot and C3000's one.  So, if you can find someone who owns C860 CD-ROM, that may work on C3000???  but I am not sure.  I will post if I find some user's experience or some sort.

I don't think the C860 camera module will work as it is compiled for 2.4.18.
I wish we had a contact within sharp who could just say yes or no.
