I've been eagerly reading reports from folks playing with Cacko 1.22. I'm still on 1.21b, because I depend on my Z working properly every day at work. It isn't clear to me whether .122 is ready yet for production use. For example, I read about some possible problems with charging the battery, but it wasn't clear to me how that issue was settled.
So my question is, if I'm depending on my Z working properly, can I flash 1.22 now, or should I wait for the first hotfix?
Frank.

In my opinion its ready to depend on, but you should
be aware of 2 main problems:
- you cannot use your 1.21b-Backup in 1.22 (you have to sync all
your data with your PC, and after flashing to 1.22 resync that
data with your Zaurus)
- if you´re depending on using wireless connection, like BT or WLan,
you might have problems with getting them started/connected
But i had no problems with charging, wether with the E-BL06 or
E-BL08K (the first is the smaller, the other is the higher capacity
battery).
Sorry for my bad english, and gn8 from germany.

There is no need for you to apologize. Your english is good enough.
BTW - I'm probably holding off until the hotfix for the exact same reasons fir mentioned

The bug with the screen going black when you set the lowest brightness through the applet is recurrent, and pretty annoying. Other than that, it's pretty much smooth sailing for non-network usage.
The backup-restore is not really an issue if you have a memory card anyway, you can just copy the files to that then back.

This is very easy to test and see for yourself.
1. Make a backup of your existing 1.21.b
2. Flash 1.22 and give it a try (make sure to read FAQ and TIPS).
3. If you think it's not yet ready for you - flash 1.21 and restore your backup.
All you loose is some time you'll have to spend flashing, backing up and restoring...

Cacko 1.22 upgrade is safe providing you do not need CF card type networking.
I also depend on the C760 for work & decided to upgrade early as I could only find one slot in my diary in the next month to undertake the upgrade, ended up completing the upgrade & have all my applications working in less than 1 hour, took a bit longer to personalise all the applications.
Suggest you go for it if you don’t depend on CF card type networking devices.

Can you be a little more specific? Does the problem affect cf ethernet, wifi, bluetooth, or more than on of these? I currently use cf wifi, have a blutooth card I'd liike to get working with my GPRS phone soon, and I have a cf ehternet on order.

There would appear to be problems with some WiFi & Bluetooth cards you probably will not know if it affects you without trying it, there are workrounds for most of these.
It was not an issue for me as I have the option of using my USB cable.

Anyhow, my Buffalo WLI-CF-S11G (WiFi) and Anycom (Bluetooth) card worked from scatch.
The only thing is that you need to install an older version of the panapplet (see FAQ) when you configure both Bluetooth PAN and Bluetooth PPP.
