often a sort of "ide led" would help to make you feel the system more responsive. Any idea?

Try This

The LED is very easy to control but I'm not sure if it would require a kernel module to do or whether there is a userspace way to gather disk activity information. Any one know how to do it?

I don't think it would be the solution for pdaxrom
anyway, we'll have to manually install it, because the pkg refers to Qtopia file system.
And nothing grants on the compatibility of used libs.
Gonna try, anyway
