That's a pretty nice toy. I'd see if I could fit a rock64pro board when it comes out (was due first but has been delayed.
More about that board here:

Thanks...
Figure it will tide me over until my Gemini shows up....April/May, I'm guessing...
The Banana Pi board is only about 65 x 30mm....so, if the rock64pro board is much larger, it won't fit in the case....but will let the guy who's making the Banana Pi UMPC know about this....
Thanks.

The lower end rock64 is not huge

85x56 mm

Thanks for the info....
Yes, not huge, but the Banana Pi Zero is 65 x 30 mm......
See pics of inside of UMPC......

Not much extra room with current case design....
I'll ask the maker if he could modify case to accommodate the rock64.....
-
Oh yes, on seeing the pictures, the rock64 would be too big without totally rearranging the boards inside and maybe using a smaller display controller
-
First progress photo received of my UMPC being made.
Setup of power assembly.
Assume it will be transferred to actual case once it is finished 3D printing.

It's truly a hand-crafted device. The good thing is you can upgrade whenever a more powerful computer board becomes available that will fit.

Yes, indeed....definitely not an 'off the rack suit'....and agree that at some point it's likely a more powerful board will be available....
We shall see...

Great case, and the backlit keyboard is surely a nice thing to have, one of the few things I’ll miss on my Gemini once I'll get it.

Thanks, Varti....
Meanwhile....
OK, kids, I received the BP UMPC a few days ago....
Been having fun with it!
Greatly lil' pocket puter....
First I ran it with the Ubuntu MATE image.....worked well, but didn't have ethernet support in the image, just WiFi.
So, decided to try another image, one with armbian/Ubuntu/XFCE. Has WiFi and ethernet support.
Performance and keyboard is good and backlight is nice (can change color too...) !
Again, Chris has been great to deal with. Very responsive if I have any questions. It was only about 2 weeks from time I ordered to getting this custom made lil' bad boy....
Here's some photos for your viewing pleasure. In group photos, I've put it alongside my GPD Pocket and MacBook Pro for size comparison.
Photos include some with the different OS images.
Enjoy!
Mark

the RockPro64 is now available (but they emphasize it's only suitable for developers at the moment)
https://www.pine64.org/?product=rockpro64-4...-board-computer (https://www.pine64.org/?product=rockpro64-4gb-single-board-computer)
I'm pretty sure it'll be way too big to fit inside the Banana Pi case you have. I reckon it might only just squeeze into the GPD Pocket shell!

Yep, it is too big.....as designed right now.
-
Still using your banana-pi UMPC, or have you switched over to the Gemini?
-
Use the Banana Pi and Pocket mostly....
This is due to the inability to connect to the guest WiFi network at my workplace. This severely limits the use of Gemini. If I don't resolve this problem soon, I will get rid of the Gemini, which would be a shame, as I like the physical form of it.

Would be great if you could look at my thread about this problem and let me know if you have any suggestions as to resolution.
Thanks!
