Title: Zaurus Os Problem
Post by: jernie04 on December 27, 2004, 07:10:59 pm
Two days ago I downloaded the update SL5500v 31u & SL5500v 31c.

In the process of installation of the new version on my Zaurus, my

Internet connection was interrupted.

The process of updating the OS was interrupted.

Consequence: my PC is unable to recognize the PDA

and every time I turned my PDA on this is the only information on display:

SHARP

INIT: version 2.78 booting

INIT: No inittab file found

INIT: Entering runlevel: 5

INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel

Please help me!

My model is a Zaurus 5500

I think you mean to be asking this on the Sharp ROM board.

You might want to try flashing using a CF card instead of the Windows software. Instructions for installing OpenZaurus (http://www.openzaurus.org) can be found here: http://openzaurus.org/web/index.php?option...id=20&Itemid=44 (http://openzaurus.org/web/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=44)

Instructions for flashing using a CF card for the Sharp ROM are available on the Sharp site here: http://www.myzaurus.com/ROMupdate3.asp (http://www.myzaurus.com/ROMupdate3.asp)
(under the installation instructions for Mac/Linux users section).
