Ill make a prediction...

Once the pace of advancement in computational power has slown down (basically Moors law), that is when the speed of smaller handheld devices will begin to approach the speed of desktop computers.  As it becomes harder to advance the basic speed of devices, R&D will focus more on optimization and size reduction. Making computers more convenient to use.

5x00 General discussions / Anyone have success overclocking their 5600?

Ive tried it usin both the official sharp rom, and zynergy5600... I can update the kernel ok, but I cant for the life of me get the qclockchange app to install.

whenever I open it, the package manage doesnt display it as something availible to be installed.

anyone know whats going on? (or is there any other way I can adjust the clock speed?)

Sharp ROMs / Special K ROM rocks....

for some reason whenever I try to install the special K rom, it doesnt work.

can flash and go through in install ok, but once it asks me to reset, I reset Nad I cant turn my Z back on. THe only way to get use out of it is to go back to the update menu and put somthign else on it. Any ideas?

After installing opie media player, did you find that it could play files well? I tried  watching some mpg Id encoded which worked fine with the sharp player, but they omp couldnt handle them.

Ive got it up and running, the only problem Im having now is trying to install programs. It seems that all my internal storage is somehow full...

The package manage keeps giving me NoSpaceLeftOnDevice and Failed to link errors. Any ideas? How can I clear off the old rom?

wait a sec... does it NEED to be installed from a CF card? I was trying it from SD, maybe thats the problem (although I dont have a CF card aside from my WiFi, so that wouldnt really help me)...

Im going back to the original sharp rom via the usb updater at the moment, but if anyone knows why opie wouldnt start, Id still like to know so I can try it again later.

Another thing, since I cant get opeie running, Im not quite sure how I can access my SD card to put a different image on there to flash with.  My pc still detects the Z when I plug it into its cradle, but I dont know how to connect to it. I was using samba before I flashed, but I doubt that would still work. Is there supposed to be an ftp server on the Z I can run? What would be the ip/login info and command I need to execute from the (Z\'s)  shell to connect to it?

Ive just installed OZ 3.3.6-pre1 on my 5600 to give it a try but I seem to have run into a little bit of a problem. Evreything installed fine, but then once I rebooted, all I can get is the shell. I logged on as root, and tried running /etc/init.d/opie start but that doesnt seem to help me, all it does is tell me \"Starting Opie-login with syslog logging.....\" and then goes back to the prompt.

If anyones got any ideas, let me know.

you shouldve tried looking around the web page a little,
