Never had used these guys, saw this thread, ordered various printer related stuff (I have enough SD cards for the minute) and all arrived within 48 hours. Excellent supplier.

How can having choices be a bad thing. People are working on different levels. The guys are off developing the next release of pdaxrom - including newer kernel etc....
Meanwhile Meanie has done an excellent job in getting what was beta3 stable and running on 3000 and anyother Cxxxx model. The 860 is already fully supported on beta1/beta3 etc.... And as far as I know all the compiled apps (thanks to lots of different people) are all compatible with beta3 on all hardware.

I'm a daily fan of these forums and pdaxrom is by far the busiest - there is just so much going on. What functionality is missing that people are so eager to have a new release?
The new apps thread have stuff almost daily - just loading and running the new apps and testing them everyday could keep someone keen to have new stuff happy....... and provide useful feedback.

There is even lots of discussions on where to put all this new stuff and managing feeds etc.....
Never mind Antix's web site tracking this stuff too.

I think there are plenty of jobs out there if your keen to help :-)

Just my pennys worth......

I also have issues with Gmail.  Once it never came up and Firefox crashed.  Then, the next try gmail login worked, but crashed during inbox listing.  Thirdly Firefox crashed during the login screen load.

This is right after a standard install.

I wonder if the issue is gmail, as I want to say previous access took me to a html only page where I didn't see any redirect this time.  Might be wrong.

I would suggest you try "ipkg remove gplflash" and then try gmail again. Been rock solid for all day since I did just that.

Well, if you'd not provided a screenshot I might not have believed you but I can't pull off the the same trick no matter what. I've tried it on both the c3000 and c3100, each time with no other programs running (other than openbox, matchbox and X of course) and the furthest I have got is to the inbox screen but I've never got as far as viewing an email before Firefox crashes. It normally crashes after logging in, before the inbox comes up whilst it says 'Loading...' in the top right. I have tried resetting and then going straight into FF but it made no difference.

Both my Z's have 250MB swap partitions- how much do I need to check my e-mail?

What we're really waiting for is someone to port Nokia's latest OSS browser or an updated gpe-minibrowser to pdaX

Strange - I have the beta2 running on my C3000 has been running for months (various fixes and hacks from meanie etc..). I was able to view Google Mail for all that time. Until this week - now every time I try to access my mail account Firefox crashes. I had recently installed GbookMarks but even when I uninstalled it the problem persists. So the question is - has Google mail changed?   Doh!! It was me - I also had installed gplflash this week (vain hope to get flash sites working) but guess what - when I remove it Google mail does'nt crash.

Regarding Firefox 2 - there has been some talk on the ([a href=\"https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=21898&pid=151551&st=97]forumhttps://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=21898&pid=151551&st=97) about getting it complied - heres hoping.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Forward Motion In Pdaxrom
« on: December 05, 2006, 11:15:59 am »
Late,
can I ask: does the work thats being done on pdaxrom affect the 3000? Will there be one solution to the flash/boot/md problem for all Zaurii or will we (3000 owners) still require a special case?

On the "in hiding" side of things any chance someone could publish a rough roadmap? Not looking for details or major commitments just an indication that for example 2.6 kernel is coming... then features X Y and Z etc... perhaps looking a year ahead?

Gotta say that pdaxrom rocks and keep up the good work...

I got a no-name USB 10/100Mbps Ethernet dongle of Ebay and have been using it regularily for months - just needed the rtl8150.o module (can't remember if that came with pdaxrom or I installed it later) and a powered USB hub.

Hi Meanie!

The next pdaxii13 sounds as if its going to be great! Your list of new stuff and fixes seems like it should solve most of the problems I've had with the current version but you made no mention of an upgraded gnumeric (has it been upgraded to using 1.6.3 from the b3 feed instead of the buggy 1.6.0 version?) and, most importantly, the problem with the X keyboard map - 1 and CAPS LOCK don't work.

OK, so maybe I could live without CAPS LOCK but not being able to type 1 under X is a showstopper for me seeing as this Z gets mainly used for spreadsheets and unless I get this sorted shortly I'm going to have to return it to beepin' Cacko and thats something I'm really not looking forward to and don't want to do. I had a look at the Xmodmap file and as far as I could see it was correct- these keys also work fine under the non-X console so its not the kernel map file so I'm guessing this is something to do with initrd?

Nobody else has mentioned this keymap problem- can someone confirm its not just my install? As I said previously, 1 actually works under aterm I've found but not under gnumeric, leafpad etc.

The keyboard problem was one of my biggest moans of pdaxrom. However, see here
[a href=\"https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=21869]https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=21869 for an explanation. I currently have no F keys defined (no brightness etc) and gaim/gnumeric all work great.

I have just tried epdfview (epdfview_0.1.2_arm5tel.ipk/poppler_0.5.1_arm5tel.ipk) with a 6.9Mb pdf and it works fine - freetype-2.1.9 I think.
