Posted GPE bug: http://handhelds.org/~bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1634
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=126133\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

That isn't a gpe bug. GPE bugs are problems with programs that start with 'gpe-', not $random_x11_app
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=134308\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Any possibility you could fix it?

I would be willing to help, but I don't know where to start.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=134318\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
I saw your post requesting the software be upgraded.
I never got it going and never got the help I needed to get it going. Sorry. Wish I could give ou better news.
I hope someone one can help you.
Now that hrw's interests have moved on to other things (according to his blog) there seems to be a lot less activity in the OZ world. Maybe I'm mistaken.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=150622\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Maybe it will work when the new Angstrom distro is finished.

I saw some screenshots with Kapi and kopi running in GPE, are these available, and if so, where?  I couldn't find them in the feed.

If they are not available, are they being worked on?

Thanks!

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Gnomesword Errors

Do an:
Code: [Select]
ls -lain your /lib directory
it might have a slightly different name. if so, then you can try making a symlink.

Hope that helps.

It displays:
gnomesword2: error while loading shared libraries: libdbus-1.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Does anyone know what is missing?

I have libdbus installed.  If anyone knows where the package that's missing is, please let me know.

Thanks

The missing file isn't in the /lib directory.  I tried the ls -la, but it didn't help.  Thanks for the suggestion, though.  Any other ideas?

Edit: I found a file in /usr/lib called libdbus-glib-1.so.2 and symbolicly linked it to the missing file.  Gnomesword then attempts a start, crashing with the message:
gtkhtml-ERROR **: gconf error: No D-BUS daemon running

After I installed the xfce plugins, they didn't automatically load.  Am I supposed to edit some file to make them load?

Thanks!

I'm running Icewm, but whenever I plug in a usb device or unplug one, the menu dissapears from the bottom, anyone have the same problem or a solution?
I'm using icewm on beta3 and have never come across such a problem. Sorry, can't help.

-- cheers
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=137833\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Me neither. Things run just fine.
I am growing to love icewm + Rox desktop in Beta3.
Apps can run truly full screen. Panel can hide freely. With igorekk's configuration tools I can do a simple quick and dirty trick to get brightness setting (setfl +, setfl -) to work.
Using the builtin icewm and the Rox themes, the desktop looks gorgeous.
Though I still feel that windowmaker runs faster and allows for more customizations.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=137846\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

When I ran Windowmaker, something was wrong with the keymap.  In beta4, I noticed that whenever I logged out of any window manager that the "a" key wouldn't work unless I pressed Fn + a.  But in Windowmaker, it has the same problem.

With Icewm, it might be a problem with having matchbox + rox + icewm all at the same time.  How did you setup your Icewm + rox combination?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Xmms - Need Mpeg 1/2/3 Plugin

I think you are misssing the mpg123 library.  I'm not sure if it is already built for pdaxrom or not, I'm pretty sure they have it in OZ (maybe it would work?).
Hmm, I thought that the make/build process would create this library? It is part of the xmms sources and located in directory xmms-1.2.10/Input/mpg123. However, it only creates the static version.

Where exactly can I find it in OZ as you mentioned so I can try it? TIA!
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

OK, I found it , but it's called mpg321 and I think it has the mpg123 library.  Here's the link:
[a href=\"http://ewi546.ewi.utwente.nl/mirror/www.openzaurus.org/official/unstable/3.5.4.1/feed/base/mpg321_0.2.10-r0_arm.ipk]mpg321[/url]

If that version doesn't work, you might try some of the older versions found here:
http://ewi546.ewi.utwente.nl/mirror/www.op...icial/unstable/

Just click on "version number" (3.5.4, 3.5.3, etc.) then go into the feed folder, and the base folder and the package should be there.  The link I posted for it is the most recent version from the 3.5.4.1 feed.

Update:

I've now been trying to compile xmms (version 1.2.10 sources) myself in order to get the MPG123 plugin. However, although building and installing xmms works fine the build process wouldn't create the shared libraries "libmpg123.so"! It only creates static libraries "libmpg123.a". I have tried to run ./configure with and without the "--enable-shared" option (which should be on by default anyway), however, both to no avail. Also other plugins such as the OSS output plugin are not created as shared libraries only as static ones (so I can run xmms but don't hear anything). Only libwav.so and libtonegen.so are build as shared versions so building shared libraries in general should work.

When I run the exact same build process on my X86 desktop PC each plugin gets created as a shared library.

What would prevent the build process on the ARM architecture to create shared libraries? I must be missing something?

Help?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Icewm On Beta4?

Do it do it under regular matchbox/openbox?

By letting us know this... it will determine if it is a IceWM issue... or just a general bug...

Late
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=136961\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

No, it's only under IceWM, not a general bug.  Thanks for asking!  I'm using icewm because it seems to have snappier response, but may have to fall back on matchbox if I can't get this problem resolved.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Icewm On Beta4?
« on: July 30, 2006, 04:05:20 pm »
I really like using Icewm because it seems to be the fastest Window Manager for programs I use (gnomesword mostly).  The main problem I have with it is that when I plug in a USB device using the USB Host cable (this is an SL-C1000) or unplug a USB device, then the panel seems to "dissappear" and if I maximize a window it leaves about 1/3 of the desktop showing on the right-hand side and I can't see the bottom of the window.  It's almost like it has resized to 480x640?

I'm running beta4, please give me any suggestions.  The only solution I have so far is to logout and log back in (which is time-consuming).  Please Help!!!

If screenshots would help, could someone tell me what command takes screenshots? Thanks!
