5x00 General discussions / Accessing Zaurus from Linux PC
« on: December 20, 2003, 07:36:47 pm »
I\'m leaning towards purchasing an SL-5600 and WCF12 card and in light of all I have read here and elswhere about syncing problems  have been playing around with ssh between my 2 home systems and thought this may be useful for manipulating files on the Zaurus.  Is there a program that I can run from my Linux based PC\'s that will allow me to update PIM files on the Zaurus ?, not synchronize, but add/ modify data. If I am asking a silly question, please forgive me, I have no access to a Zaurus nor have I every seen one. I would just like to have \" all my ducks in a row \" before I take the plunge. Thanks for your time. {rh}

According to what I have read on sites you have to copy image to file name \"zImage\", you have the inird file correct.  You have to put them in the root of cf card, and also create fat16 file system before you start.
To recap - create fat16 file system, copy image file to \"zImage\" and initrd.bin to\"initrd.bin\" to cf root.
I hope this is right, if it isn\'t I\'m sure someone will speakup. I don\'t even have a Zaurus yet because I am concerned about lack of syncing to Linux.  good luck {rh}
