Just a suggestion for OpenBSD zaurus site http://www.openbsd.org/zaurus.html

It would be good to have some dates on the changes and latest news on the main page, and where possible on sub-pages in future so that those of us who come in to check on changes or are thinking of trying it out know in a glance if there were any significant changes and if the current build is something we've not tried.

Anyway, hope to see OpenBSD and NetBSD work out!

Hi Hus,

ebay - how was your experience with this card since then?

Hello mondrian,

sorry it was a long new year

yes the card is fine, works on both Linux and OpenBSD out of the box

Hi,

I just ran into the same trouble. After following this thread, it would
probably the best for me to get a new wireless, too. Or did happen
anything new in this respect during the last half year?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=149427\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Hi mondrian,

i didn't test this card again, but i believe still not working under openbsd

# cd /mnt/cf
# ./autoboot.sh /mnt/cf
not as much typing for the lazy

good luck

Great! that's save the time looking to autoboot.sh script and copy&paste proccess
ok now we have a bootable system let's get down to fix minor issues and optimize it, do u have a flickiring screen when overclocking to 520? also it seems i can't get rid of screen shadow with any value i have tried to adj screen: any recomended values?

by the way there are no guides or tips regard using pdaxrom with internal 6GB hard drive, just wondering how to utilize a good HD scheme to wotk with pdaXrom.

thanks for the tip about autooboot.sh script

Tested on SL-C3200 works fine, no problems so far, the installation a bit tricky and i had to do it manualy. great to have on sl-c3200
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=141934\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

How did you go about installing it manually?  I can get to the point where I flash the new emergency system, but then on reboot there is no activity or charging light.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=141945\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

boot to emergency system

and do the installation manually ( i use cf card ) so
Code: [Select]
mount /dev/hdc1 /mnt/cf
cd /mnt/cf
nandlogical /dev/mtd1 WRITE 0x5a0000 0x160000 kernel.img
flash_eraseall /dev/mtd2
nandwrite /dev/mtd2 rootfs.img
reboot
have fun

Greeting Mate!

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to implement OpenBSD boot loader that free us "Your PEOPLE" from Linux! consider that the /boot & kernel should be in the flash area.

This zaurus will self-destruct in 5 seconds! unless you do the octopus move "Reset + D+M"

Good luck Mate!

Before i forgot! here is some tunning tips and starting xdm at startup, i'll drop them here and if you wonder what they do try to search the forum and google ( the guys who posted them they provide a lot of explanation specially Andy posts here regard fine tunning OpenBSD

***** NOTE: it's just to give an idea it may not reflect to what do u have in your config files, i just collect it from this forum and internet to boot to gui and gain little speed ******

Code: [Select]
vi /etc/sysctl.conf

vm.swapencrypt.enable=0
kern.stackgap_random=0

machdep.kbdreset=1
machdep.apmwarn=5
machdep.maxspeed=520

net.inet.tcp.recvspace=65536
net.inet.tcp.sendspace=65536

starting apmd, xdm and hotplugd
Code: [Select]
vi /etc/rc.conf

apmd_flags=""
hotplugd_flags=""
xdm_flags=""

adding softdep & noatime **depend on ur configuration not exactly the same**

Code: [Select]
vi /etc/fstab

/dev/wd0a / ffs rw,softdep,noatime 1 1
/dev/wd0b none swap sw 0 0

Turnning off ttyC0 and 1 to use xdm

Code: [Select]
vi /etc/ttys

ttyC0 "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" vt220 off secure
ttyC1 "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" vt220 off secure

finally the malloc thing in the console
Code: [Select]
ln -s 'azjgpHR' /etc/malloc.conf
AS I SAID B4 to have an idea you may search for more info
i'm not sure if that will give problems, but for me it looks ok (i only have a suspend problem) and it boots to xdm

cacko mounts /dev/mtdblock2 to / according to fstab. I cd /etc/pcmcia and did a 'more config'. I looked over everything that had ide mentioned and everything was already edited? There was nothing in the form ide-cs. I have attached the config file to this post. Let me know if you see anything wrong.

 [ Invalid Attachment ]
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

wait!! you are using cacko? not the full HD install (tiny-rom) and files provided by Andy (iamasmith) in his guide?

if you want to use cacko and OpenBSD better to follow the official install guide here [a href=\"ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/3.9/zaurus/INSTALL.zaurus]zaurus.INSTALL[/url]

basiclly install the ipk provided to install OpenBSD.

What i have mentioned it in this topic is the installation for FULL HD using small cutom rom been submeted by Andy here https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=17213
using the file he provides and simple edit i have explain it in this post.

try to go back to iamasmith (Andy) guide and see what you have missed.
