User Request for Applications / Scummvm 0.7 Or Higher For Qtopia On My Sl-5600

I have some bad news for you.  Even if someone were to compile a newer version of ScummVM for the 5xxx for you, it wouldn't be able to run the Broken Sword series of games because the games require a 640x480 resolution.  Sorry.

oh darn!!! ..... how come they support it for the psp on the summvm site then? as the PSP has a lower resolution that 640x480?


I wonder if there are two versions of broken sword ... a high res and a low res version? hmmm

Hi,

I have just bought from ebay broken sword 1 and broken sword 2 to play on my poodle running watapon rom (varient of the standard sharp rom). After waiting patiently 3 weeks for the games to arrive I have found that my version of scummvm 0.6.1 which is the highest version I have found that I can get to work in qtopia won't recognise the games!! I think this is because I need scummvm 0.7 or higher.

I have been unable to track down a more recent version of scummvm for the sharp rom that will run on a SL-5xxx. Could someone compile a version of scummvm 0.7 or higher that will work for me? or does anyone if there is a build around somewhere? I have been looking for hours without any luck

Software / Stratagus Version For Sl-5xxx

bmxer55 mentioned that he had completed a modified version of the data files for stratagus to scale down the graphics so that this is more playable on the small 320x240 display.

I have sent a pm to bmxer last week and no response about this yet. does anyone have the modified  data files to supply to us all? I would like to try this out.

I have sucessfully installed frodo on my 5600 and works great! I am playing some of the old Ultima games on it and need to be able to use a blank disk to save my game however it don't know how to save to a blank disk, when I try it says please insert disk

Software / Nethack Wont Let Me Save!

I have loaded nethack version 3.4.0 from an IPK file onto my zaurus. first of all it wouldn't load at all said - permission denied in terminal so I changed the permissions to 777 for all files and it loaded fine.

now i get this error message when I try to quit saying

"Saving...
Cannot open save file"

and wont save at all.

Anyone know a way to get round this? maybe if someone posts a savegame at the start of the game for me??

Software / Anyone got Exult working on the 5600?

If anyone's interested, I got it working. Did a format to get back to factory config, installed Exult, LibSDL etc, this time I found the .exult.cfg (finally remembering that the leading "." means "hidden" DOH!), gritted my teeth, ran vi (experiencing the vague state of panic that usually ensues when using vi) and simply replaced all instances of "homeroot" with "homezaurus" and she now runs like a beaut.

I have had the same trouble trying to get exult working on my 5600. I am also a newbe. Please can someone explain to me how to edit the hidden .exult.cfg file? as I need to config this to run from the SD card not the CF card.

Also this user, cgrieves explains using the "vi" command in terminal. Please can someone explain what this command does, and what the exact syntax is that I need to type..
