For Sale / Wanted / No Longer Wanted: Sl-6000l
« on: January 17, 2008, 07:39:00 am »
I am not using my SL-6000L much since I got the Nokia N800, so I would be interested in selling it. I have the SL-6000L with an extra battery, along with the sync cradle, a retractable charge/sync cable, the iRiver USB host adapter cable, the manual, and original CD. The screen has been covered with a screen protector since I bought it, but the plastic hinged cover is somewhat scuffed (to be expected considering the materials of construction). The unit itself is in excellent condition.

I can offer it to you for $200 plus shipping cost. I live in the Philadelphia area in case you are close and want to transact in person. Let me know if you are interested.

6000 - Tosa / Ppp Terminal Option?
« on: December 27, 2004, 09:46:59 pm »
Thanks for the suggestion on minicom. I don't know much about Linux, but it looks like I will probably have to look into scripting chat to enter the words and launch ppp. I guess it's time to read up on the underlying OS.

6000 - Tosa / Ppp Terminal Option?
« on: December 24, 2004, 10:37:25 pm »
Hi, new SL-6000 user here. Thanks to everyone for all the great information in these forums and on this site. Getting started was a lot simpler with everything I found here.

Wireless networking is working perfectly, along with wired ethernet via a Socket CF card. However, I want to use a CF modem card for dialout in some situations. I am dialing "classic" Compuserve, so I need the dialup program to switch to a terminal rather than doing normal username/password PPP login. On other computers, I can select an option for getting a terminal screen after connecting so I can type a couple of lines like "CIS" to select Compuserve and "xxxxxx,yyyy/go:pppconnect" for the user name.

Since the built-in PPP dialer doesn't appear to have a terminal option, is there any other dialup method or program available that would present a terminal screen at login?

Thanks in advance,

Brad
