Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxii13 Usage

Voted in for pdaXii13 Akita base on C1000.  Thanks a lot Meanie.  My Zaurus sat idle for a few months before I installed it.  I dont know much at all about linux and am trying to learn about it though use of the Zaurus.  It isnt going very fast, but thanks again for the updates Meanie.

Well, I tried this out even though I didnt think it would work but low and behold, I got my Zaurus online!  On the back of the card there are checkboxes for 3.3v or 5v and it says that it is 5.  I just wanted to be sure that this would not damage my Zaurus in any way.  Thanks for any information.

The Tapwave Zodiac got the axe two years after being released into the market.  Unfortunatly, it does not run linux, but there is still a pretty good following for these devices as well.  If I am not carrying arouny my Zaurus, the Zodiac is with me.  Long live hardware that is ahead of its time!

I downloaded the image last night and flashed it this morning (forget my charger at work).  My 4gb SD card now works which is awesome.  Thanks a lot for the updates.

I dont have a screen protector on my Zaurus but my other PDA that is not a clamshell does.  I apply it in the bathroom with the door closed after running the shower for a little to get some humidity in the air.  Then using a credit card and a paper towel, i squeezed the few drops of moisture out from under the protector.  Unless you or sombody you know has access to a clean room environment, i think that is your best bet.

I dont think so.  I installed the Default Cacko 1.23 rom from the homepage.  Tried pdaxrom and got scared and ran away.  I am learning but its a slow process for me...

Well, maybe I didnt phrase my question correctly...  I am almost certain that I followed your instructions.  Upon running roms, it does run in full screen but I guess I was wondering if there was a way to strech the screen to fit without black areas at the borders.  Chrono trigger runs great as is so I am not sure if it would still run as smooth if it was stretched to fit the screen.  The only other issue I have is once in a while the emulator will crash on loading a rom and go to the "cacko loading please wait" startup screen and hang there untill I reset.  Thanks in advance for any info and for putting togeather this package...

I am sorry if this is an obvious quetion, I searched this thread but there are a lot of pages...  How can I get snes running fullscreen?  I thought I saw some kind of command line entry but I dont know how to run the program from a command line let alone adding addtional variables...  Thanks in advance for any help.

I am considering buying an Apacer or BTC SD 2 gb here coz now they cost just USD 50. Hope they will work too.

Newegg has 4 gb SD cards for ~60 USD.  Newegg 4gb cards

At least, it would not crash so often.

I have a palm based Tapwave Zodiac and never had a problem with crashes...  I would say that so far my Zaurus running Cacko has crashed a bit more but I am pretty sure those crashes were user side errors and not a fault of the device

PriceJapan was great for me sl-c1000.  Ordered it on the 16th and got it on the 18th in conjunction with DHL for shipping.  From what I can see, it does NOT come with an international charger.  Lable says 100v not 100-240.  Hope that helps a bit.

With a 1G SD card and Cacko's build running the SNES emulator with overclocking and a huge swap space makes average people envy when I show them a Castlevania game.

Are you satisfied with the SNES emulation on your C1000?  SNES is one of the things I use all of the time on my Tapwave Zodiac and I was hoping that the Zaurus would be able to to it as well.  Thanks for any info...

Cresho:  Do you use the creative travelsound system instead of running the Zaurus through your car's speakers?  My CD deck has an aux in that I run my Zodiac into and it works great.  I really want to get a Zaurus and if it could put out similar quality as what I currently have, it would make me lean in that direction even more...
