If you want good video playback perhaps you can install Cacko in NAND with tetsu's or evijazz's kernel and boot Debian off the SD which is already there. You just need to install kexec and boot into Cacko under Debian. I am about to do this really soon as I feel like having more things to play/work with. Cacko is less "powerful" but is indeed more hack-free and PDAish.

WHere can I get the Cacko NAND install with Tetsu or evijazz's kernel?

Noone's tried the C1000 yet?

I'll give it a shot this weekend. Would I be able to just use the same files that the C3000 guys are using? There's no internal HD though..

I'm still pretty newb so excuse me if this is a bad question: Can I use your image for a C3100 if I have a C1000? And what ROM are you using? According to your signature, you're using the Stock Japanese ROM?

can you help direct me on how to build MySQL 4.1 on Cacko? I'd appreciate any help!!

Also, is there such a thing as a 'developer's ROM'? Whether it's Cacko or pdaxrom.. Just one ROM I can flash my Zaurus so that I'll have all the developer's tools like Perl (with LWP), PHP, Apache, Mysql, java..

If not, I'd like to submit that idea!
If anyone out there has this already, please, can I have your backup so I can clone your Z?

I've read about it in these forums and it seems that linux distros didn't exist so we couldn't get Skype on the Zaurus. I'm not sure if this is new at all, but I just found it. Hopefully someone of the geniuses here can do some magic and we'll have Xmas early this year!

but couldn't find any mysql ipk there. I'd appreciate it if you can help direct me to it. I know a lot of other users here have been asking about getting MySQL 4.1+/5.0+ runningon the Z.

User Request for Applications / Perl With Lwp

Hi All,

I already installed PERL, but I want it with LWP. There's no handy dandy package for it. I'm still pretty new to the scene so please forgive any ignorance. I checked the searches and there's no thread that provide any solution.

Is there any way I can install LWP for my PERL? I tried using CPAN but when I try to install LWP, my memory runs out completely and I have to restart. Any ideas or solutions?

I dunno why this is, but I reformatted with my digicam and it works again. I dont know if I would've gotten the same effect if I reformatted with laptop or the Z.. I know it's ideal to reformat with the Z to use with the Z, but I really want to be able to use this same card for my digicam too.

Just installed the driver last night and my Ridata 4GB SD worked perfect. all day then I took it out tonight to put more stuff on it through my laptop's SD card adapter. I put it back in and the Z can't see it. My laptop and digicam can still see it however. It's just dead to the Z.

I'm running C1000, Cacko 1.23
I even reinstalled the driver but it hasn't helped. Also rebooted in case.

Any ideas?
