It is 2272576 indeed.

grep scim /etc/gtk-2.0/gtk.immodules
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=153578\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

"/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/immodules/im-scim.so"
"scim" "SCIM Input Method" "scim" "/usr/share/locale" "*"

Seems OK to me. Thank you for the quick response.

Thank you Meanie, this version works perfectly with my C1000.

One thing though. Scim works with Qt apps, but not with GTK ones. What I did was:

- Installed a Korean TTF font
- Installed scim-hangul
- Modified /etc/sysconfig/locale with "export LANG=ko_KR.UTF-8"

SCIM is loaded successfully, but control+space does not work at all with GTK apps. Where should I look?

Well on my C760 r121 farly fresh install hostap_cs.conf exists for sure ... but the /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia is not there.

Maybe you have some filesystem corruption or a faulty installation ?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=149682\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

I just checked md5sum of both kernel.img and rootfs.img, and they are all correct. Is this some difference between Cx60 and CXX00? Can anyone who's using C1000 confirm this lack of /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf?

Well have a look in /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf
Although that may only work for cards compatible with hostap ... I've no idea if your card works with the hostap module ... but you could still try to add some other cards too.

Have a look at what dmesg says after card insertion, you may get some idea to what's going on.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=149578\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

There is no /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf in rc121 as far as I know. The hostap driver pakcage in the feed requires /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia script, which is also missing in rc121. I guess this has something to do with the kernel chance in beta4/rc121, but so far I haven't got a clue where to work things out.

Some cards fail to take iwconfig commands till the device is up ....
so first do

ifconfig wlan0 up

or whatever the device name is
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=149553\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

The thing is, the card is not associated with any device name. Both wlan0 and wifi0 does not work; I don't think the system recognizes the card as a valid network card. When I was using beta3, I had to add the manfid information to hermes.conf - which is missing in rc121. I think it will work once the system recognizes the card.

So there is no way to add card information manually in rc121?

Do the device lights light up when inserted?

Late
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=149522\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Yes it does. And pccardctl recognizes the card correctly. However iwconfig does now show wlan0 that the card used to be. Also, dmesg shows:

pccard: PCMCIA card inserted into slot 0
pcmcia: registering new device pcmcia0.0

and that's it. No hostap_cs related message. What is wrong here?

Phill, did you configure your wireless card? I am facing the same problem with rc121. I have a wireless CF card that is :

product info : "IPOne", "AirGate2000C", "Version 01.02", ""
manfid: 0x0713, 0x0002
function: 6

and it used to work perfectly with beta3, once I added the manfid to /etc/pcmcia/hermes.conf - rc121 does not have this configuration file. I guess what you are looking for is the same thing: how to add the card information so that the system recognizes it. Any luck?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Kdepimpi For Rc12 On 3100
« on: September 29, 2006, 08:55:01 pm »
I am using the 2.2.7 version. When I try to move the data storage path using the global settings, ko/pi changes to the new path and stores its data there.

However, ka/pi seems to stick to /home/root/kdepim no matter what I do. It only works normaly when the storage path is set to /home/root/kdepim. If I change it to, say, /mnt/card/kdepim, ka/pi won't save the data when exiting - which makes it load with empty list next time.

What am I missing here?

NAND-Restore always ended up in "format error".

Actually, the same thing happened for me but with beta3 backup. I formatted my CF card in FAT16 using Zaurus, according to some posts, but it didn't help. Anyone has a clue?

you must execute scummvm-run.sh

Oops, that corrected the problem, silly me. Thanks!

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Scummvm Under Xfce4
« on: September 21, 2006, 05:52:54 pm »
I am running scummvm v0.90 on pdaXrom beta3, using xfce4. Scummvm executes fine, up to the point where I choose a game to start. However, after actually starting a game, it shows the following problems:

- I cannot bring up the menu using menu key
- The stylus calibration goes all wrong

These problems are specific to xfce4, because they only occur when I run scummvm under xfce4. It runs without any problem with the default WM.

Anyone had similar experience? If so, any solution?

Actually there is a project to port the Newton OS to the Zaurus, and other arm based pdas, called the Newton Einstien project .  It looks pretty serious and fairly well advanced.  Pity they seem to be concentrating on the sl-5500 and the Nokia 770 at the moment.  I would love to see this run on my C1000!
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=141360\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Now, you may laugh, but one of the reasons I decided to finally get a Zaurus was the Einstein project. NewtonOS in a new body! One day I will try installing the thing on my C1K. One day...

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Firefox And Xfce4 Keymapping Questions

Ironically, my installation of xfce4 just went through similar misfortune. I decided to give up the Fn key, allocated the brightness control to Alt+3/4, then configured all the menu icons last night. Then suddenly the panel crashed with segmentation fault - after that, it just won't load with the menu plugin.

I came back to matchbox+ROX combination after that. Although I very much liked what I saw in xfce4, I cannot spend all my time tweaking the windows manager... With all due repect to Chero and other people who have been trying hard, I guess I will try again when it's a bit more stable

ps. uMP2K, bet you hadn't problems like this with the good ol' MP2K, right? I miss my green machine too...

Weird - mine stopped working; or rather, I thought it was working 2am last night, but it is not now   uMP2K, can you confirm your results? Can you get the normal behavior from "3" and the shortcut from "Fn+3"?
