General Discussion / Working Tomtom Nav On Angstrom
« on: March 24, 2006, 10:31:49 am »
Before I start getting too excited about this, is there any chance of it running on an SL5500?  I have been looking for a mapping system for the UK, and this seems like a great idea...

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Opie With Preloaded Apps
« on: March 06, 2006, 10:47:29 am »
I must admit that I am very tempted by this Rom, but I can't tell from the screenshots what PIM apps are being used - I am using an SL-5500, and currently using the TKC rom version 1.something (it has been so long that I can't remember) but this uses the "new" dbm format for storing the data.  I would like to be able to go back to using opie-today etc if possible...

Is there a list of all the apps that the Hentges ROM uses, so I can build the courage to change...

Also, is the change from Sharp (TKC) to Hentges as simple as downloading initrd.bin and CardFS onto my flash, and following the usual boot holding 'C' & 'D'?

Thanks for your time,

Tarquin

5x00 General discussions / Exporting Sharp Pim Data
« on: March 02, 2006, 12:04:14 pm »
Hi All,

I have been searching for some way of extracting the PIM data in my address book and diary which is stored in dtm format.  I have used dtm2xml, and have generated the raw xml data, but I am now unsure what to do with it.  I have tried loading it into Epiphany, but I get a comment about no style information associated with it.  I have also looked into DocBook, but all I can make out is that there should be dtd file available.  According to the xml file, this should be at www.dstri.de/DTMs/dtm-1.0.dtd but the site is not available...

Any suggestions?  BTW, I am using the last TKC rom before version 2 (Sorry, it is so long ago now, I have forgotten...) Kernel 2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-emb and Qtopia 1.5.0.

TIA,

Tarquin

General Discussion / Beta testers needed

What is the software you need testing - in general if you prefer...  I have an SL5500, with the TKC v1.0 ROM, no WiFi, Bluetooth etc and may be able to help out...

Sharp ROMs / My 5500 will not boot anymore...

Cheers, Andreas,  I must admit that I came to the same conclusion, and have upgraded to the tkc 1.0 final ROM.  I have lost a little bit of data, but at least I don\'t have a brick...

Sharp ROMs / My 5500 will not boot anymore...
« on: March 26, 2004, 08:40:33 am »
Help...   My z would not come back from suspend - with or without the power lead...  I did a soft reset (switched to replace battery & back), I did a hard reset, removed battery, and finally removed my sd and CF cards.  Finally, the z started to reboot, with the expected swarm of fsck errors.

The situation is that now it starts to boot, modprobe reports that it can\'t locate devinfo and that is it... I get 9 iterations of the 5 second countdown then \'INIT: Id \"ln\" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes\' but nothing else....

I have tried with and without the sd card in - I have manually moved Applications to the sd, but nothing else, as I am still running Protos 1.0RC4 ROM.

Any help would be very welcome - I feel lost without my z

Not sure, but having been \'burnt\' in the past byt the NiCad memory effect, I personally prefer to let the batteries run down....
