Am I the only one having a problem accessing this site?

the domain doesnt even resolve with an nslookup....

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Xfce4 Finetuning

I'v installed the xfce4 packages on my C750 SD card .
When running starxfce4 I got the following message :
xfce4-session: error while loading shared libraries: libxfsm-4.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I will appreciate your advice.

I didn't mean to copy libwraster.so.3 somewhere. It is just a symlink (BTW does a filesystem on your SD card support symlinks?)

Thanks for your reply . I did your suggestion but got the same error .
Just to let you know that I installed the WM packages on my SD card immediately after flashing PdaX 1.1.0 beta1.

Have you relogged on after changing your ~/.profile (or just issue . ~/.profile in the shell prompt)? If yes then try to locate libwraster.so.3 on your SD card and add path to it to LD_LIBRARY_PATH

iamphet , After doing copying libwraster.so.3 to /mnt/usr/lib and adding /mnt/usr/lib to $LD_LIBRARY_PATH, I got the following error message :'/usr/local/lib/wmaker: error while loading shared libraries: /mnt/card/usr/lib/libwraster.so.3: file too short '

I successfully  installed the three packages of WindowMaker. Running startx after reboot generates the following error :
'/usr/local/bin/wmaker: error while loading shared libraries: libwraster.so.3: cannot open shared object file : no such file or directory'

Try to add to your ~/.profile

But why does the bottommost portrait screenshot look a bit weird as the lower part of it seems not to be displaying anything... or is it just my eye problem?

Finally I've made IPKs.

Look below for some corrections of README as a result of this packaging.

If you'd like some Z friendliness, install wmaker_pdaxrom_0.1_all.ipk. Files contain some useful (for me) settings and hotkeys. For better results make sure you have /etc/X11/kb/corgi.xmodmap (optionally userdefined.xmodmap).
Note: wmaker can't bind several buttons on one action, so 'Menu' button doesn't work in portrait orientation, use 'E/J' button on your touchscreen instead (on C860 at least  

Finally to get dockable system monitor+clock+sound volume constrol, install wmzmon_0.1_armv5tel.ipk See wmzmon --help and /home/root/.wmzmon.xpm for customization directions. I like default "wmzmon -a" view

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Alarms With Kdepim/pi For Rc12 Sl-c3100

Hi!

OK, so thanks for the work of cattin and sashz and others, I think I made a working solution with atd and the ~/.kopi_* files. It's a script for the /etc/apm/ directory. It runs on suspend and resume and makes files in the /var/spool/at directory, so it wakes up the Z before (-10 sec) an alarm event.
This means you still have to have KO/Pi running in the background but let's hope that atd makes everything nicer than apmsleep. You also need atd installed (it's available in the 1.1.0beta1 feeds) and I guess you need a kdepim that is compiled with the sampling rate option '-r ...' removed (for example the one cattin posted in the first post) to play sounds with KO/Pi.
I think that's all.

So, please try it out, give feedback!

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Fast Sd Cards

Hi,

I am going to upgrade my 256MB SD card to a 1GB SD card.
I am wondering if the Zaurus will be able to take advantage of the faster cards currently in the market.
Since these cards are tipically a factor of 2 more expensive I would only buy them if there is indeed an actual speed improvement with the Zaurus.

Could you please let me know your experiences with using fast SD cards with the Zaurus? I am most interested in the 1GB cards, but smaller cards info is also welcome.
Which cards are you using, and have you noticed a performance improvement relative to slower cards?

My zaurus is the c860.

Hi Joao,

I tried the PRETEC Secure Digital 512MB x133 and failed , the Zaurus managed to work with a slower card PRETEC Secure Digital 512MB x66 .
seems that the SD interface in the Z is speed limited and can not take the advantage of the new cards .

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Kde-pim In Pdaxrom

I like pdaxrom but pim application are unpractically slow in pdaxrom (68 seconds to have ka/pi up and running with 550 contacts) compared to 18 seconds in Cacko ROM 1.23 (instantly in fast load mode).
I'm wondering where is the overhead and if there is any way to make response time reasonable ?

Hi ,

I did a search in the forum about Socket WL6004-322 (the new model) support in pdax RC9 but did not find a clear answer.
It seems that the old model is working well on pdax and is not available anymore .
Please let me know about your experience with this card .

I have a SL-C750 with pdax rc9 installed .
