im using the sharp rom and the default player to play back MPEG-2 movies that I encode with tmpeg. But i\'m pretty sure any mpeg2 movie will play on there.

thank you soo much! All this time the zimage file was zImage.bin
Once again thanks, you\'ve helped me again.

One more thing where can I find a list of commands and what they do, for the Zaurus.  And no, I don\'t know linux, but I am trying very hard to learn.

it is formatted with fat16, i posted earlier asking if i should do fat32 with it to get the extra 200mb but decided against it. I do everything that it says to do on the OZ site, I have even left it alone for 30min to make sure it flashed it and it did not work. I can think of no reason why it shouldn\'t work. I have had my Zaurus since Tuesday and have flashed it well over 10 times with the OZ rom to no avail. i can only think that maybe the files get renamed when they are downloaded to my computer which runs xp pro, like the extension is changed or something, but everytime i check it the image and bin file have the correct names. i don\'t know, i might just do like you said and buy a small 32mb compactflash soley for flashing.

i have tried 3.2 amd 3.3.5 . I have a 2.2GB Microstor microdrive. does OZ not support them?

I made a new tab because I got tired of the App tab filling up and taking up the whole screen area when selected. But when i moved the mpegplayer it wouldnt find its files and it wouldnt play them. My question is how do I change the path, if there is a way, maybe via the console, and I dont know much about Linux so please use simple terms;)

Just wanted everybody to know that, you don\'t need any other player except the one from Sharp, and they run sooo much better than mpeg1 movies/videos.

I have the problem where it writes the Rom onto the Zaurus but then during boot up it has the Sharp screen and thats it.  Oh and I have the SL 5500

I have to disagree Magicstor drives do NOT get that hot, they get warm but thats about it. And yeah its a bitch getting them out of the Zaurus buts that why you use the plastic sticky thingy. Just try not to put pressure on the flat sides, hold it by it by the edge where it says to hold it.

MANNNNN!! i feel your pain that sucks!, if you can just save up for a SL 6000.  But yeah first look and see if there are replacement parts. Im sure somebody on this forum has a parts SL 5500
