5x00 Hardware / SL-5500 Memory Limits?
« on: November 02, 2004, 09:16:18 am »
I've got a 5500 and have a 512mb CF card, which I have been using for a long time in it, so long in fact I actually think I've worn some parts of it out.

Deals and Great Z Buys / eXpansys experiences?
« on: October 26, 2004, 05:50:52 am »
I bought my Z from them, along with memory cards, card readers, mobile phone accessories, etc.
I only ever had a problem when a multi-card reader wouldn't work, so I contacted them, sent it back and had a replacement within 3 days.
Couldn't fault their service and will happily buy from them again.
And NO, I don't work for them.

General Discussion / Cannot communicate with Win98
« on: October 07, 2004, 04:53:10 am »
Is there a little Z Manager icon in your system tray? That's where you can change how Win98 communicates with the Z, I think the Win98 software default to using the serial port, so better have a look for that setting.

5x00 Hardware / 5500 and GPRS phones
« on: October 06, 2004, 06:56:37 am »
I use the 3.13 rom with the Cacko update and for connecting to the net I use IR with my Sharp TM100 phone (only got it because it looks like a small SL6000), before I got this I used IR and a Samsung A300, and I've never had any trouble with a few other ohones I've tried.
Just look for any phone which says IR and you should be able to connect.

Also, have you checked that both the Zaurus and Win98 are using the same communication setting?

General Discussion / Zaurus as a... watch??

How about modifying a leather case? Okay, your wrist/forearm will sweat a little bit, but they are normally securely fitted to the unit.
Remove the belt loop, either cut holes in for the straps or sew them on.

Feel free to flame me if I\'m wrong.

That\'s still off topic!
Are there any self powered USB hard drives?
Just thinking of the people with SL-6000\'s.

I\'ve looked at the recipe, we don\'t seem to have anything like it in Dear Old Blighty.
At least I know what a scone is.

A mixture of the two.
Insulted and abused, but still none the wiser.

General Discussion / Will you use the "new" Sharp devnet?
« on: May 26, 2004, 11:22:07 am »
Why couldn\'t Sharp EU and USA follow the lead of Sharp Japan to market and support the Zaurus?
An amazing thing which they left to die, thank God for ZUG, Cacko and the OZ teams.
