Cxx0 Hardware / Zaurus won\'t start
« on: October 26, 2004, 05:43:07 pm »
Im sure you have done this already, but check the position of the switch on the bottom of the unit...  You might want to give it a cycle back and fourth( listen for the click)...  Maybe it is not quite in "operation" position... The second thing you can try is to remove the battery, and reinstall...  Good luck...

Cxx0 General discussions / Is Dynamism the only source for a C860?
« on: April 13, 2004, 12:13:45 pm »
I got mine from eBay http://stores.ebay.com/K-YA-Gaia-Nonlocal-Correlations  for a great price, and had it in my hands in 3 days from \"Buy it now\". The guy is very honest, and reliable. as a matter of fact I get all of my add ons from him as well.

Cxx0 General discussions / Please help: new C860
« on: April 13, 2004, 11:12:00 am »
The C860 is a great piece of equipment! However, I would lose the original Rom and change it to the Cacko 1.21 Rom released last week. It is very stable, and eliminates all of the Japanese software issues that come with the 860. I have been using my 860 for 3 months graduating from a 5500.
Setting up the new O/S is extremely easy if you follow the simple instructions on the download page on this site. this is the link:

More software works with this Rom, and they have added some neat extra features.

Being the master of blowing these devices up, I just installed it, and it works fine. You need to log in as SU to configure it or run sshd.

Software / VNC on my C860
« on: March 19, 2004, 11:11:44 am »
Morning Crew...

Just received my SL-C860 from Japan. I would love to have VNC on it. Can anyone reply with a link that is not Japanese where I can read installation parameters...  I just tried to install it from a Japanese site... And yes I blew up my 4 hour old toy because I was missing a library...     Running the converted Sharp rom 1.20 to english with Qtopia 1.5.4   What would also be great is a site that has instructions in english on the 860C...  Im driving blind...

Thanks all...  Bob

« on: March 08, 2004, 09:35:28 am »
Just in case, this is the link to the battery applet IPK file.  Trust me I blow up my 5500 regularly experimenting with code, OS, and apps.  Just be sure to back the perfect scenario when you have it perfect...

Try the Applet Manager, and make sure that your applet is running...  Works great...  You can turn them on or off as you wish...  Good luck...  Regards...  Bob

I am dying to get my hands on \"any\" Cribbage game for my 5500. I have searched everywhere, and the only one is terminal based...  Someone please help me make my Zaurus complete...  The last thing I want to do is run a Palm Emulator for it...  Regards to all...  Bob

Software / zradio - works, but
« on: February 05, 2004, 08:35:13 am »
zRadio is a bit cumbersome in general, and I was enjoying the same problems you were. A great deal of the stations do not reply back to the Zaurus when you click play. If you do find one that works on your PC click add first, delete the default port 8000, and enter in the correct url & port. Click \"play\"  Then go back to the menu and you should see it in your list. If you do, click \"close\" that will save it. I have never gotten a reply back from the zRadio tech support to date, and I paid the $10 as well.
