Hi Folks,
I\'m pretty sure everyone has been around the block on this one a few times so I\'ll appologise if there\'s anything glaring I\'ve missed. I\'ve seen references to this question and have followed a number of dead links etc. Between my Z model and my card I\'m usnsure as to what applies and where. Suffice it to say, I and am not much further ahead than I was some 3 months ago. I\'m interested in clearing up some lingering questions, that might help me either put the matter to bed (because I don\'t want to give up tkcROM), or get Wellenreiter up and running once and for all.
First off, I don\'t know if it\'s related or not, but I have qtKismet running nicely.
I have managed to get the appropriate Wellenreiter .ipkg and the neccessary Opie Libs, as well and have successfully gotten Wellenreiter to fire up (via the icon as su).
using a WCF-11, after I configure Wellenreiter with wlan-ng driver (which it appears to autodetect), it still tells me the following: \"Your Device is not properly Configured. Please reonfig\". No joy.
Is it a driver issue? Is it merely a setting that I need to tweak somewhere? Or am I right in understanding that the kernel in the stock tkcROM 1.0 does not support the neccessary wireless extensions that will get me running Wellenreiter?
If so, is there an available kernel I can flash my 5500 with, along side the other tkcROM file (zimage / initrd :: can\'t remember which is which) to basically give me all the functionality I have come to adore from the tkcROM (thank you proto) but with Wellenreiter functionality?
If so where might I be able to get it? What other functionality might it impact? And are there any tricks to flashing and getting it running?
Thanks for your interest.
Cheers,
Marcel
