Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxrom+6000
« on: September 12, 2006, 01:21:52 pm »
I have been playing with pdaXrom for 3 days now and it looks great.I have a couple questions....1,How do I log back in after I suspend or reboot? I've tried root and password but no success....2,Can't the rotation and wifi script be incorporated in the rom or atleast an ipk? It would be alot more appealing for those who want to try it but are intimidated by using the console and changing files/directories.

Is there a version of Cacko that runs on the sl6000 and if so does wifi work out of the box ?

no.  your best bet for a sharp based 6000 is to upgrade to tetsu's kernel for the 6000 and follow meanie's customizations (keeping in mind you have a 6k) on the sharp rom.  with some patience you end up with a good setup.  You'll probably have to play with libs a little (sdl versions can be annoting), though

Is there any other rom with wifi working out of the box or from the connect icon for the 6000..it seams a shame to waste that feature and have to input script to use it every time.

Is there any other Rom for the sl-6000 that will allow me to use WIFI connections without a command line script ? I can't wait until DrWowe's CG6000 rom is out to breath new life into my 6k...

Is this an OEM or retail packed drive? If it's an OEM or a drive you ripped out of another device, the firmware may not support being used in a PDA.

I have a Seagate 5gb st1 microdrive for my SL-6K and when I type fdisk /dev/hda   It returns "unable to read /dev/hda". I want to use the drive but I can't mount it. I'm also logged into the terminal as root. THANKS....

Samsung might be a good place to check for memory since they are in hot water with the FCC about their price fixing for their chips. Also a law suit is soon to follow so they might have great prices now.

Has anyone tried looking at the chips inside other electronics such as; cable boxes, old corldless phones, tapeless answering machines, old dish network boxes. All of these have flash memory chip inside, also old cable/dsl modems and mother boards.

Once it also said/dev/amp_bios: Permission denied could not open for writing '/home/user/Settings/qpe_new.conf'    QCopChannel::send: Must construct a QApplication before using QCopChannel             .Any suggestions would be helpful

Sharp ROMs / Trolltech Qtopia 2.1 ROM soon

Which models are supposed to be supported by Qtopia 2.1 ?
He said it has been tried on all handhelds that support linux not just Sharp ,including Ipaq, and it works fine. They cannot release a direct Zaurus version because it would conflict with their Sharp agreement but it is "Open" software and can be compiled by the user.
