Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Opera 7.23 & Open Zaurus

Here is the steps to get the icons installed in Opera.

1) ensure /usr/share/opera exists, if not mkdir /usr/share/opera
 2) ln -sf /opt/Qtpalmtop/opera/buttons /usr/share/opera/buttons

Even though this has nothing to do with the original post this is one of the few answers I have.

I tried 6.1 on OZ 3.3.5 there is a small problem with the icons but it is a simple ln command. (Which I rurrently don\'t have with me.)  I have not had any trouble with (again) 6.1.

D\'oh-- I tried to unpack the .ipk but when I try to run ar -x hancom... I recieve an error message of:
\"ar: hancommobileword_1.5.0_arm.ipk:  File format not recognized.\"

I am running mandrake 10 and the ar command worked fine with kpacman from the stable feed.

Thanks for the suggestion catachresis I have previously extracted those ipk\'s with the scripts a while back.  If I can find them I will give those a test.

I did a google for the error message and came up with this:

\"Sagen wir mal so... das Architecture Feld war schon immer benötigt, nur hat ipkg das früher nicht überprüft. Pack das Paket aus, ergänze das CONTROL File und pack das Paket wieder ein.\" -Mickey (www.z-portal.info)

Google translated it roughly to mean unpackage to ipk and install the components manually (I think).

But how? I will have to keep diggin\',

It also gives me the same message when I try to install 1.4.4.

\"Package hancommobileword has no Architecture defined.\"

Hmmm, what am I missing,
Thanks,

Howdy,

I was wanting to install the hancom word app to OZ 3.3.5 when installing word from the command line I get, \"Package hancommobileword has no Architecture defined.\"  This is the word from the ZUG downloads so it is version 1.5.0.  And I am trying to install it to SD which is ext2.

Thanks,

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / CF card woes w/ OZ 3.3.5
« on: February 20, 2004, 11:46:14 am »
\"do you restore from backup with each change, or does the changing the rom leave the home directory alone?\" hmmm, I would assume this would be relevant to where your home directory is placed, RAM, SD, etc. I really haven\'t played with this setup to much. sorry.

When I changed OZ ROMs most of my applications are loaded to my SD card and on the open zaurus faq there is a command that relinks them. http://www.openzaurus.org/oz_website/faq/faq?id=204 I couldn\'t get anything to synch with the Sharp ROMs or thier derivatives, so I abandoned those pretty quick.

Most of my data is created on a PC and migrated to the Z so I generally have it backed up.

Once I get a ROM dialed in I generally only use it for a semester and only for school stuff. (My boss and wife annoyingly keep me aware of other important calander events.) So I am not to worried about calendar and contact stuff but my sync to my unix box tends to keep those intact as far as I have noticed.

\"I generally only use it for a semester\" I guess that does not reflect to good on my underwear habits.

I think that I have heard of a way to create your own ROM\'s which would be great once I really get one dialed. If anyone has a link I would also appreciate that.

Hey, on the main page to the left is the link to the Dev boards.  Hey, and scroll down the main page there is a big story about how on the left is a link to the mirrors. Hey, and OZ has a file called ReadMe.First. http://www.openzaurus.org/official/3.3.5/c...ie/README.FIRST

Now I don\'t know if this will solve my problem, but this was what I was looking for.  So thanks for the Ideas and I will be back.

Duh,
