I'm using a 1gb sd card and when I try to:

3. Go to NAND flash utilities and format the user partition (wait for menu to return after partitions re-mount)

I don't see "NAND flash utilities".  All I see is the boot menu listed here:  Boot Menu

Even translated I'm not seeing "NAND flash utilities".  Is this because of my 1gb SD card or am I missing something else?

Oops, my command didn't show up as I typed it, evidently. It should be:

Code: [Select]
iwconfig INTERFACE mode managed essid YOURSSID key YOURWEP power 1
Sorry about that.

Does it matter if I'm using WPA instead of WEP?  I keep getting "invalid key".  Sorry for so many questions.

Cacko does have the iwconfig command, but you need to be root to use it. Try these:

Code: [Select]
sudo iwconfig mode managed essid yourssid key yourkey power 1
Code: [Select]
su
iwconfig mode managed essid yourssid key yourkey power 1

Code: [Select]
sudo su
iwconfig mode managed essid yourssid key yourkey power 1

I don't know how Cacko's privileges are set up, so some may work and others may not.

Hi Capn thanks for the info.  Here's the error I get

Error : unrecognized wireless request "managed"

I've found that if you add "power 1" to the end of your wireless command string, eg:

Code: [Select]
iwconfig mode managed essid yourssid key yourkey power 1
You get better battery life. The card also stays cooler.

Do you know if there is something similar for cacko?  I tried the above line and it failed.

My ambicom with my c1000 does the exact same thing.  Which is okay when I'm at home.  On the road, not so much.  Most of the time though I use a sitecom bluetooth card and my cell.  The bluetooth drains my battery maybe a quarter what the wifi card does.  I've been thinking about replacing the ambicom with another brand just to test the difference in battery life.  If so, I'll let you know what I find.

If not, does anyone know of one off hand I can get for cheap off amazon?

I plan on making it the hard drive for the C1000, if thats possible?

I haven't gotten my C1000 yet (ordering it tomorrow) but I heard it doesn't have a hard drive. Will I be able to make the sd card that I get the hard drive?
If so, any links or comments would be appreciated.

I don't believe the SDHC sd cards will work with the Z.  I have a 4gb transcend that is not SDHC and it works perfectly.  Here's the one I bought.  It's only 40x but, from what I understand the Z can't read higher than 40x.  Here's another transcend that doesn't appear to be SDHC.  Transcend 150x 4gb SD card.  The higher speed will help with moving files on to the card from your PC.

Hope this helps.

Software / Quasar Media Player Released For Sharprom And Pdaxrom
« on: November 28, 2007, 09:15:28 am »
Thanks for the quick reply.  I'm watching mp4 files with an aac audio codec over a samba share.  The same files play fine in Kino2 over the network.  I would much rather use quasar though.

Software / Quasar Media Player Released For Sharprom And Pdaxrom

I'm currently using Quasar .9 on my c1000 with cacko 1.23.  I'm still having the rotated half screen video playback problem.  I've tried using some of the additional options others have stated, with no results.  The problem is occurring when I play video over the network from server.  If I drag the exact same file on to my sd card, the playback is in the correct orientation and full screen.  Any suggestions?

Maybe I'm missing something here.  Sometimes when I look through the forum and threads, the posts to the threads are collapsed in a tree instead of listing all the posts.  What do I have to do to change that.  It makes looking through a thread difficult.

yeah, the files are all different types.  Mp3, AAC, Mp4 with AAC audio, Divx, Xvid you name it.  It mostly only happens when I'm close to the wireless router.  Maybe I need to change the channel of the router.   It does however stop the clicking sound when I touch the underside of the wifi card.  Once I stop touching it, the sound resumes.  Totally strange.

And? Does it work? Anyone?

GMM

I know this is reviving a 2 year old post but, I thought I would respond for the sake of other users who have or want to buy this card.   It does work with cacko  1.23.  I have the card and it works right out of the box.

should be able to go to your bluetooth control menu and mark the zaurus as a trusted device

That's the strange part.  When I set up the zaurus as a trusted device, the Z will no longer connect to the phone.  It only works when I connect with no profile and have to enter the pin.  I'm okay with it for now though.  I'm just happy to have the internet on my Z anywhere.

should be able to pair the two as long as you dont use the BT card in another device.  I have the same issue when I swap the card out form my laptop into my Z. I have to blow the profile away on my phone.

C.  PS if you need to setuo GPRS Edge this may help https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showto...21237&hl=o2

Thanks for the info.  On a completely different note, I noticed that you are using the same wifi card that I am using.  Have you ever played video or music remotely through kino2?  If so, have you ever noticed a clicking noise?  Every time I play something, video or music from my server through the Z, I hear lots of noise.
