Accessories / Iriver H3x0 Ac Adapter

I just bought an iRiver H320 and the AC brick that comes with it is marked 5V/2A and center positive.  I plugged it into the Zaurus SL-5600 and it appears to charge and light just fine.  I put a meter on it that was once good, but has been repaired a couple times since it was last calibrated, and it appeared to be 5.4V with a light 10mA load (for reference, this same meter reads a brand new AA battery at 1.6V).

Linux Issues / Kernel2.6 And Syncing

There have been reports of problems with the latest 2.6 kernels and usb support for zaurus.

Not sure if it effects 2.6.12, but it definetly effects 2.6.11.

USB support for some Zaurii was broken in 2.6.11.  The Sharp Rom and SL-5600 was definitely affected (usbnet no longer binds to ethernet adpater).

I submitted a patch that will fix at least SL-5600 with Sharp Rom in 2.6.12.

User Request for Applications / iPod clone

I dont own an ipod, but if I had to guess,
one might port linux to it if they liked the
form/fit/function of the Ipod but wanted
it to do more than Apple intended.  Like
playing Ogg Vorbis or whatever.

I\'ve been interested in the Ogg-Speex format lately as I\'ve been
grabbing a lot of radio shows off the net.

I\'m not a software developer, but compiling the command-
line utilities seemed trivial.  Give them a test:

What would be really useful to me would be a media player plug-in
for this codec.  I\'m sure its possible based on the Ogg-Vorbis plug-in
that\'s out there (speex uses the Ogg container too), but my C++
and Qt knowledge is nil.

I see Gaim 0.76 is out, presumably with Yahoo! support fixed.
I\'d like to start a thread where we can report when qpe-gaim
or any other Yahoo! IM client is working for the Zaurus again.

My first question is: Are these packages even meant to run on a SL-5500? From the little documentation I found about this server, I figured that it was able to run on various Zaurus models.

Hi Dirk, myself and several other 5600
owners have shared the same problems.
In fact, I heard from no 5x00 users who
had xqt working so I uninstalled it and
hope it is someday updated.

Thanks very much, the b version
doesnt crash.  It did shift all my
appointments to Oslo time, but Ive
reset my time zone and expect when I
get to work tommorow I can grab back
my calendar and all will be right.

Opera does this to me once in a while, but
very seldomly (once a week?).
Does Opera7 have a big footprint due to
the voice stuff IBM did, or are these two
seperate versions?

This version doesnt work as well for me
as the last.  On my SL5600 (latest Sharp
ROM), when I click around the calendar
views a bit, the application will suddenly
iconize (the window goes away but
theres still a taskbar icon).  If I click on
the taskbar icon, the app relaunches as if it wasnt really running.

Software / VideoLan client for Zaurus?

I\'m having great luck transcoding movies (well, cartoons from DVD)
to watch on my Z, but I\'d like to stream the content from a PC instead
of storing them on my CF card.

I was curious if anyone has seen a VideoLAN client for the
Zaurus?  My search turned up nothing...

X/Qt / Xqt

Has anyone else with a 5600 had a problem where the X-display is
rotated?  Actually, its a bit messed up too.  I get the display rotated
and tiled as if it thinks its displaying to a 240 wide screen but since
its rotated, it tiles and displays the first 80 pixels a second time...
