I am in CoffeeHaus right now. The place is not very big - a few coffee tables, mostly couches and recliners. There are 3 computer terminals available, a large screen TV. Wireless connection is great. Zaurus picked it up right away, the signal is pretty strong. It doesn\'t require any kind of authentication (unlike Panera, where after some configuration changes I was able to surf via my laptop but not the Zaurus).

Not many outlets as far as I can see (most of these places aren\'t built to support that) so gotta charge batteries first

As far as menu selection, it is mostly beverages, hot and cold. Large CoffeeHaus mocha cost me ~$3 bucks. Not much food other than cookies and muffins.

Nice comfortable atmosphere, plenty of parking - I give it thumbs up

Great. I\'ll probably check it out Wednesday/Thursday night. I know for a fact parking is much easier out in the suburbs than here in the city

According to the website, Letizia\'s offers connection from FaceFive ($3 for an hour, $8 for a day, $20 for monthly unlimited). I like the fact it\'s open till 11pm though  I\'m a late-night kind of person. My prefs is Friday, Sunday, Saturday.

Sounds good. I agree with n8a, as long as the date/time is set far enough in advance I can schedule for it

I\'m guessing a weekend would work best for all of us - Sunday nights are best for me as well as Fridays.

Hi everybody!
Glad to see so many people from around Chicago (I\'m located in Chinatown). AFAIK Panera Bread has free wi-fi access, but I\'ve had mixed results so far. I am definitely up for a meeting

Security and Networking / 802.1X client
« on: March 10, 2004, 04:16:09 pm »
Hi all.

Does anyone here have any information regarding an 802.1X client for the Zaurus?

Funk\'s Odyssey client is available for Win/Mac and also PocketPC, but there is no mention of Linux.

Through some searching I was able to find this project: Open1X - http://sourceforge.net/projects/open1x/ - the XSupplicant. Does anyone have experience with this client?

The reason why I am interested is because my work/university wireless network uses 802.1X to authenticate. Funk\'s Odyssey client (http://www.funk.com) is used for this purpose, but there is no support for Linux. I was wondering if there is a way to port the XSupplicant to Zaurus.

I appreciate any insights, thoughts, etc.

I kinda agree... sometimes I look for clues in people\'s signatures to figure out if the fixes/mods/etc they propose are for the 5500 or 5600.
